I've updated the spreadsheet with results from Points #4.

Updates on the battles noted earlier:
  • In CS, Matt McGrain widens his lead, and Lee Williams pulls ahead of the absent Brice Johnson
  • In STR, Steven Carter joins the season points battle with a very solid second place finish, meanwhile none of the leading three drivers scored more than 1 point
  • In CAM, Rodney Wright narrowly defeats Stephen Westerfield, and overtakes the absent George Paraskevas
  • In NOV, newcomers Gareth Holl, Greg Cromheim, and Geoff Sutton take the podium finish, preventing Chad Culbertson from widening his lead

Newly developing battles:
  • In ES, Jennifer Bedell and Chris Peterson put the heat on Turner Oppy, who maintains his substantial lead from earlier events when Jennifer and Chris were absent
  • In DSP, Daniel Owen and Sean Foley have now both taken first place ahead of the other, and otherwise had podium finishes at all other attended events, with currently only a two point gap between them
  • For the Cone Killer award, Eric Peterson pulls into the lead, with a 4-2-1-1-clean at Points 1 and a 3-2-1-1-clean at Points 4

I don't think we ever decided the rules for Vagrant class. I'd be surprised if you weren't winning it though

I've added the results from Points Autocross #7 to the spreadsheet.

  • In CS, the talent pool ran wide and deep, with 4 of the top 10 PAX times of the day done by drivers in CS.
  • In STR, Jennifer Vance received the trophy quadfecta driving a new-to-her car (mine), taking 1st place in class, FTD, FTST, and FTL (Anyone know what this means? I suggest Faster Than Light). She also had the distinction of hitting the most cones of the day, with a spectacular 6-3-1-clean cone profile
  • In CAM, Stephen Westerfield narrowly defeated Rodney Wright by 0.2 second, resulting in a season points tie. However, both of them still need to run one more event in CAM in order to be eligible for a season trophy.
  • In NOV, Talya Dressler closes in on the absent Culbertson brothers.
  • In Cone Killer, despite having a second place finish (cone-wise) at the event, Zach Williams takes the season points lead. Stay dirty!

Dangit, the car had a 65 in it if I could have got my last two runs. Stupid rain. So is NCAC going to count as any kind of points event? If so, one day? Both days?

Your stang may have had some more time, I was done. My tires were all over the place, so I think they're dead grip wise. I also ran out of 2nd gear twice on that course, but it was too short of a run to shift. These 3.73 gears are not my friend. 3.55's would be a much better choice. Hoping I can give you a good run thru the end of the year...

Damn it, missed out on a HUGE chance to catch up on Matt at this weekends event, although maybe I need to be more concerned about holding onto 2nd place instead of worrying about chasing 1st. Lee and Maria are both right on my heels and both beat me this weekend. Yikes.

I think my season score needs to be taken down a point as I only came in 6th at the #6 event.

Thanks for pointing that out. It turns out I had doubled up on second place points and shifted everyone up by one place. I just went through and reassigned points for that event.

I also added a check to find out if I'd made the same type of mistake in the points for any other event/class, and found no other instances. If I start down that dark path again while keying in a later event, it'll alert me immediately. Won't happen again!

This process relies on manual data entry. If anyone else sees any other errors, please let me know.

Glad I was able to attend this past Saturday. Car was completely new to me, and being my 3rd autox event [ever], I was well pleased with the setup. Time to hit the track!

I've added the results from our Points Autocross #8.

  • In CS, Matt McGrain has very nearly clinched the class for the season. Second and third place are still too close to call
  • In STR, despite the 22 point lead I currently have over Steven Carter, there's still a good possibility he could win the class for the season if he attends (and dominates like he did on Sunday) the rest of our events this season.
  • In CAM, Stephen Westerfield and Rodney Wright battled again for first place, with yet another season points lead change at this event. This one is likely not to resolve until our last event of the season
  • In NOV, Talya Dressler handily PAXed Chad Culbertson. If Chad can manage to attend and finish on the podium at the rest of our events, it'll be very difficult for Talya to catch him in season points, but not impossible.

That's a negative, Ghost Rider. I think you've got STR locked up. I can't make the September event due to work conflicts, and you'd have to drive poorly PLUS I'd need help from Tristan/Derek at all the remaining events to push you down the rankings to give anyone else a shot at winning.

Great work this season, dude. Now get some real tires!

Thanks. It's really too bad you can't make it to the September event. I need to keep my Z2* for the rest of the season. I've never managed to drive well at Zmax (even on fresh tires), and with all of the great drivers in STR class from around the state at NCAC (our 10th and 11th points events), I'm keeping my expectations low. Doesn't your employer know autocross is serious business?

Maybe I missed this, but assuming 11 points events, how many will we drop for points?

Ha! Yes he does (employer=me.) Sick people need 24/7 coverage in the hospital and it's my turn to do weekends.
