So I have re-joined THSCC this year and hope to make it to a couple of autocross events this year. I know there have been some rules changes in the scca and I wondering if I am remembering them correctly.

1. Stock Class is not Street Class on street tires?
2. I heard that you can now add/change on sway bar in Street Class?

As to what I will be driving... well the same car I have always autocrossed in..

She's a little beat but has all new suspension parts so we shall see.

David - The SCCA rules are now online in case you didn't know that. http://www.scca.com/solo/content.cfm?cid=44517

The major changes for Street (Stock to old timers like me) are:

You can change either the front or rear bar. In the past it was only front.

You can go up or down 1" in rim diameter compared to the "stock" wheel diameter. Width and offset must continue to meet the old rules other than the 1/4 offset change is now 7 mm.

Tires now require TW200 rating. No more R tires in Street.

Dick,
Thanks for confirming I had read them just wanted to make sure I was interpreting them correctly. Good thing is I can now use that rear sway bar I have had in my garage for like 10 years on the car lol. Is there a particular street tire that people are using? I remember there were favorite brands people were using in STS and STX when I last auto-crossed.

Dunlop Z2 Star Spec and Bridgestone "REsomething something" are probably the best tires.

The Bridgestone is the RE-71R.

If you want to use your old BFG stickers, there is the BFG Rival.

Oh, welcome back David! We've been holding the autocross announcer position open for you!

A lot of people on miata forums are amped up about the Toyo R1R TW200 that tirerack.com says doesn't exist, but their mailer, that is on my coffee table, says otherwise. I think it just isn't available yet, but will be soon.

Also you can change the shocks, but not springs. Cat-back exhaust and air filter, but not air intake, and then some very technical engine over-bore modifications.

I'm kinda new to the club, but welcome back. I hope to beat you at a race or two, but probably won't cause I'm slow.

The over-bore your thinking of is just to account for an engine rebuild. the allowance is minimal and very cost ineffective as far as gaining extra hp from it.
