I want to thank a whole bunch of people for all their help this weekend. Thanks to my co-novice co-ordinator and her able assistant Jennifer Vance and Zach Williams for helping run the novice school. Also I want to thank all the folks who came out to help set up. Brice Johnson, because he was GMing and had too, Tristan McBride, Derek Delong. But I especially want to thank the novices who came out and braved the cold so they could have some fun and improve their skills. I also want to thank all the instructors who volunteered their time and energy to help the students beat them at a later date :-) Special Kudos goes to Mike Miller who volunteered to ride in an open car with the top down and you know his head was out there in the 43 degree heat during the runs.

This was probably the first Novice School where we had such a good ratio of students to instructors. Thanks to all of you :toast:

Finally I want to thank David Klebanow for allowing me to drive his GTI. BTW if you did not cringe at the sound of the car in the sweeper that was me driving and sparing the tires. lol

Also big thanks to David Spratte for explaining to me how to drive a front wheel drive car. He was able to explain it so even I could understand it and then could actually put it into practice.

Looking forward to 2016

Many thanks for putting it together - It was an absolute blast, and I learned a lot from it. It was very newbie-friendly, and I'm glad to see we had so many other novices turn up.

Actually, I'm a big Datsun fan. I have not ridden in a 2000 Roadster in decades. The Datsun Roadster was the first example of a British sports car done right right by the Japanese. The cherry on top was that I had no head room issues. The car did everything a true sports car should do, it just did it slower. The owner apologized for how poorly the brakes worked. I told him not to worry, he was over braking anyway. Remember, this car came with bias ply tires new. The MG guys still hold a grudge for this car. I always do the Novice School because it forces me to visit the ego numbing basics of autoxing. My goal was that at the end of the weekend I would have "No-Vices".
