I don't know if the officers have arranged for a group rate anywhere, but the Comfort Inn in Danville appears to be a favorite. You can walk back to your room from the Mexican restaurant. Just use your AAA or AARP discount.

looks like I won't need a hotel room now. The mustang is down due to a failed rearend rebuild. I'll help instruct Sat, but will miss Sun. Can I get a credit towards another event?

Hey guys,
I registered a week ago to instruct on Saturday and run on Sunday. MSR Dashboard says I'm in, but my name doesn't show up on the Saturday list. Could you check, please? I do plan to instruct.

Thanks,
Gwennie

Am I missing a way to see who's registered for Sunday? I'm trying to decide between STX or X class. I don't want to be in a class of 1, but so far, I can't find a way to see the entry list for Sunday.

Scott,

You're not missing anything. Even after you register for Sunday, it only shows a list of attendees for Sunday with no class breakdown (although that might help you -- you can always register and then change/delete it later). Strangely it shows a list of classes for Saturday along with a long list of unassigned entries, so I'm assuming that the classed entries are the instructors and the unassigned are students.

Thanks, I finally got that far. Before registering you couldn't even see the Day 2 list.

Hey guys,

For some reason the Day 2 segment was set not to show Class info on the entry list. I've gone ahead and fixed it, so within 15 minutes it should update and show the complete list. Note that you do have to be a registered attendee to see the registration list, this is for the privacy of our members and attendees.

EDIT - I'll try and keep a better eye on the forums for stuff like this... If anything is urgent, please bring it up via email to the appropriate group via registrar@thscc.com, autocross@thscc.com, and/or president@thscc.com.

Back to the hotel topic. I tried to reserve a room this morning and found that everything is either booked up or the rates are sky high ($216 for a double room at the HI Express w/AAA rate, for example). There is a Chump Car race Sat at VIR and also some kind of motorcycle event at the track too. Looks like I'll be commuting.

I found a room at Innkeeper Danville North using points, so I know they have rooms. I don't know what their cash rate was - it seemed to be similar to Comfort Inn points-wise, though.

I think you're SOL as far as hotels go, unless you wanna pay $143/night for a $39.99/night hotel. I'm just going to drive.

Instructors. Please try to show up by around 8:30 so you can meet your student and get the lay of the land. If you get there early enough you can have a few early fun runs.

Rob

National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing. NOT! Ergo I agree w/ Rob. NASCRAP. The continental race series is the new NASCAR as far as I'm concerned....

Did anyone else get stopped in the police checkpoint on 62 coming home today? My registration was out of date - $25 fine + $180 "court fee." It wasn't even being done under the guise of a DUI checkpoint. They were just stopping everyone and looking for minor infractions for person county income.
