I know it doesn’t affect many in the club but I will like to know what you are thinking of the following proposal.
I’m not really in favor of the change for one.


#15045 Fiat 500 Abarth Classing Proposal Per the STAC, the following class change proposal is submitted for member review and comment: Move the following Appendix A listings from STC to STX:
Fiat 500 Abarth Fiat 500 Turbo (2013-2014)

What are the circumstances behind it? I think I heard someone tell me a few months ago that STC is being eliminated.

STC is being folded into STS for 2015, so yes STC is eliminated. So in reality it is a change from STS to STX that is proposed.
I think that since this was still in 2014 the STC class was still valid. In the 2015 Draft rules the Abarth is shown under STS.

They are fine in STS I think. It's got a high center of gravity and open diff, even if it's much more powerful there isn't a good way to get it to the pavement.

There is some Abarth owner that think that if the car is in STX they will be able to put a limited slip diff. on the car and that the car will become hugely competitive.
I got my doubt on this. I will not buy one for sure, I’m thinking more of changing the front sway bar for a bigger one.

I’m not SCCA member so I cannot send a letter.
If anyone here that is SCCA member can send a letter requesting to keep the 500 Abarth in STS it will be appreciated.
