Well, regardless of whether my RS stays in STS & they allow wider tires for heavier cars, or it goes to STX where the wider tires are already allowed, my RS is stuck with at most 225's - unless they want to allow the 22B fender flares?

:D

I hate working the course at autox and I must tell you about it, often.

Other interesting items (some are up for member comment)...
* Effective 1/1/2005, move all AWD vehicles to STX. I guess this means no more Subaru RS in STS?

Hmmm.... ALL AWD cars? Wouldn't that mean the STi lands in STX too? All the Scoobies thrown int together as 1 big happy family  Where do I send in my vote

STi is specifically disallowed in STX, even though its displacement already makes it ineligible.

Just because a proposal goes out for member comment doesn't mean it's already decided. The comments that will make the most difference will be those that are backed with solid data. The letters that just say I agree (or disagree) with the proposal will get little attention especially if they come from those with special interests. The SEB specifically said that the proposed reclassing of the Celica GTS to GS did not happen because the only in-favor comments they received were from GTS owners.

The funny thing about GT-S not moving was that the RSX-S is about is nearly identical when you take into account the larger displacement and more weight. I know GH actually felt the GT-S was a fine fit in GS. Not that it mattered much to me, for after the Peru Tour last year, I decided that STS was where I was going, regardless of the move.

In this case, you will have all of the 2.5 RS saying no way, and the rest of the STS drivers probably could care less. - AB

The one thing here is that other STS drivers have said its a good fit for the class. To quote heyward wagner from memory

"As an STS competitor I would love not to have to line up against a 2.5RS ever again. As a STAC memeber, I feel that the car solidly belongs in STS"

Yeah, I saw that - good for Heyward!

On the other hand, Phil O. appears to be a bit of a dick. "I really don't understand why all the backlash over this housekeeping item."

Ummm... because the Civics are kicking the AWD cars' butt in STS, and STX already has an AWD car with > 100 more hp and wider tires? No, that can't be it, must try to think of another reason...

So if the rule passes, which car should I drop the WRX engine into? I'm thinking I should put it in the blue RS (since it's been with us longer) and just take it to VIR a whole bunch... maybe do an autox in SM once in a while?

And I could sell the silver RS, buy an MR2 Spyder & play around in CS. And then we'd have a convertible car that we could take for weekends in the mountains. Ooooh... it's not sounding quite so bad now! :D
