April is when the EV challenge event weekend is for us, so thats out. March is generally reserved as our Novice school month, which leaves May.

Probably, need to wait for a couple other calendars to be published. I'm asssuming those weekends don't conflict with any nationals events by you selecting them?

Why do we wait for other calendars to publish? If we put ours out first, then the other folks can schedule around us.

I missed the NJ Pro, so we need to schedule on the weekend of May 16/17th - which is likely Mother's Day weekend, but what better way to let your mom know how much you love her than to send her to a school that will teach her something that may save her life! 8)

And, of course, we'd like Saturday the 16th.

We work together with the other clubs.

I was referring to other calendars that couldn't care less about our calendar, but would draw a large number of our members away.

I'm starting to put it together, its just not as simple as declaring some dates.

I think my wife would be interested in this, I mentioned it and she seemed interested.

Reviving this post. May 16th looks like a possibility, but I need to see interest from instructors.

I don't understand why you need to know interest of instructors. We have always secured our own instructors, drawing from ALL of the area clubs. So, it will be difficult to fully gauge interest on a forum open only to Tarheel members. Tell me your concerns and I'll do what I can to address them.

The weekend in question is the same weekend as NCR's novice school at Cherry Point, so I think its important to really understand if we will have enough instructors or potentially consider another weekend. We also have had some people who helped lead this event in the past who are less involved with the club than they were previously. We need to be sure we have someone to lead this event.

I'm sorry, Brice. I thought it was clear that I am going to lead it. Actually, JJ, Gwen, and I are going to lead it. :sing: Maybe we can chat sometime over the holidays and I can try to address your concerns. But on the question of instructors, while it is not something about which I am remotely concerned, if we get an overwhelming number of students, it is not unheard of for us to use male instructors. They'll have to wear skirts, but we'll do it if we need to!

I do agree that many of the Tarheel women are not as involved as prior years, but we have expanded our reach to many other clubs from which we draw instructors. There are ladies who skip other events just to help out with the Chick School.

I'd tread lightly there, you could offend the non-zero number transgendered population of the world that might be following us on the book of faces. Not to mention pictures of men in skirts jumping in and out of cars might make them think we are running some kind of weird prostitution ring. We don't want to portray the wrong image.
