So Leslie and I finally get to go to a THSCC autocross this year.

We are going the rental car route like a Ford Focus or something unless somebody has a better rental car idea.
What is Danville like?
Is there food nearby or should we bring lunch?

Can't wait to be there.

Our own Matt McGrain is driving the wheels off of his Focus ST. Food is nearby, assuming there is a break to get lunch. I might bring something to munch on just in case.... Glad you can make it up!

I've always heard the fastest cars in the world are rental cars, lol.

P. J. O'Rourke once said about driving fast.

"Even more important than being drunk, however, is having the right car. You have to get a car that handles really well. This is extremely important, and there's a lot of debate on this subject – about what kind of car handles best. Some say a front-engined car; some say a rear-engined car. I say a rented car. Nothing handles better than a rented car. You can go faster, turn corners sharper, and put the transmission into reverse while going forward at a higher rate of speed in a rented car than in any other kind. You can also park without looking, and can use the trunk as an ice chest. Another thing about a rented car is that it's an all-terrain vehicle. Mud, snow, water, woods – you can take a rented car anywhere. True, you can't always get it back – but that's not your problem, is it?"

Is that from the C&D article about driving a (then worthless) faded lime green '67 Mustang around the mountain roads above Los Angeles, terrorizing 911 drivers?

Well, I signed up for this event. All alone in F-street. Hope my Bavarian friends and that limo driver choose to take part too :)

So, I hit a deer this past Sunday and have some damage to the front end, it's entirely cosmetic however, and if possible, I'd like to run on Sunday. So long as I don't have parts that are loose and could fall of on course, can I still drive on Sunday?

Bring some duct tape.

But seriously as long as its safe I dont see how this would be a problem (allowing our tech inspector to make the decision when he does his rounds sunday)

Toss up a picture. I am sure those in the know will be able to give a better answer with a picture.

Sorry Art. I've lost enough times already this year. :)

You are fine bill. The good news is you run BSP, so your "modifications" are more than likely legal. Tech inspection consists of wheel bearing checks, battery tie down checks, brake pedal, and any obvious leaking fluids.

I updated my registration to run in CAM, I like this idea of reviving the old Mustang VS Camaro feud lol.

Plus it looked a bit lonely in there with just 2 mustangs.

That's great news! Now, you know you guys can run in novice for the first year right? I think it's great you're stepping it up right out of the box!

Edit: I see you and Austin are in NOV. Good move.... This will be fun to watch over the year...
