I did some research before buying my '11 328. Most of the major reporting places liked this car and gave it good points for reliability. We'll see. Les, you had a chance to drive it while I was in FLA. What are your thoughts?

I saw that 07 GTs came in P3 and P8 (last trophy) at Nats. What does he need to look for and stay away from in his search?

What are the best/most affordable shock options. Other that shocks and a front bar do the cars need anything else to be competitive locally.

Thanks
Eric P.

Eric,

Did your friend buy a Mustang? If so, what year? Reason for asking is that I probably will have relevant "stuff" for sale in early to mid January. Almost for sure a half worn set of of 265/35 Dunlop ZII's on FS legal 18x8.5 Kazera wheels with TPMS sensors. Probably a Strano adjustable rear bar which fits all 2005-2014 Mustang coupes. Maybe a set of Koni Sports that fit 2011-2014 Mustangs. Maybe a set of oem 18x8 wheels with TPMS sensors and almost worn out ZII's.

You may have missed a couple of posts in other threads. Dick has ordered a Ruby Red 2015 Mustang GT w/Performance Pack & six-speed manual, with which to school us all until his GT350 is ready.

Dick, when you take delivery of your new car, be sure to check the rear tires for excessive wear :) http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthr ... a2765&

This makes me wonder if the evil empire will restrict the use of line lock to clean/pre-heat tires in solo events.

Art,

GT350 not in the budget unless my social security gets doubled and the stock market does similar. :(

Regarding line lock for tire cleaning or pre-heating at Solo these are only permitted at Pro Solos and then in a designated space just before the stage lights next to the timing trailer. It has been "interesting" being behind someone who does that such as Mike Johnson on Rivals in his Corvette or one of the guys on Hankooks. There was one time I wasn't sure the smoke would clear by the time I needed to stage.

Preliminary info from Michael Sperber, Asheboro Ford owner, is that the car will be built the week of December 15. I suspect that the plant shuts down for the next two weeks so when the car ships is tbd. Shipment is by rail to Winston-Salem and then either transport truck to Asheboro or by one of Michael's senior guys depending on what he thinks is best.

That may well happen in this crazy world Dick...of course ground beef will be $10/lb instead of $4 currently, and a new Mustang GT will be $80k instead of $35k and autocross entry fees will be $120. :( Considering a new Vette was $4000 back in the 60s, who knows...

I would need SS and the market to double before the GT350 and other stuff went up.

My 2015 Mustang was assembled on Thursday December 18. Currently waiting for a ride to NC. Forgestar wheels on order. Tires still very much TBD. Koni's are months away at best since tooling for the struts is required. FYI the current SS National Champion (Chris Cox in a GT3 911) is already "preparing" a 2015 Mustang for FS (he lives in California).

Don't "forget" that I will be selling the Koni Sports from my 2012 Mustang. They fit 2011 - 2014 Mustangs.

Dick

Sounds good Dick; I'm looking forward to reading your impressions of the car!

I'm just glad to hear your new Mustang has three pedals Dick!

I had no choice after selling the formula ford since it was the only stick shift car left.

Thanks for checking in Dick. My friend is still interested in a Mustang, but saving up, not quite yet ready to pull the trigger. I may be interested in getting one of the new Mustang's as a DD in a couple years. I'd really like something RWD, manual, and semi-usable back seat. Probably would just do the base 6 cyl.
