Either you are good enough to instruct, or you are a student. Pick one.

I had to take Novice school twice because I'm a slow learner. Once in an MR2 Super Charged then later in a 280Z. The Toyota set me back a year. I spun it in my first 150ft on my first run when I shifted to second in a corner. It did have an 8K rev limit and 12 psi of boost. I spun it so many times that I flat spotted all 4 tires and had to buy my son new ones.

well I am definitely not good enough to instruct, and the other responses make it sound like I am definitely in the category for tearing some stuff up in the Novice school. See you there :)

Now that we have done our second event all you novices need to sign up for the novice school. You will get a season full of runs in one day and then can come back for the next event. Sign up early so we have enough instructors and you get the best experience.

Feel free to PM me if you have questions.

I have a friend that is asking about signing up twice for the autocross, so he can drive two cars. Is this allowed or feasible?

We tried it in the past, and the feeling was that with three run groups it was not feasible. Believe me, if I could work twice to drive twice I would do it every time I could.

Looks like a change in plans for vacation and Vegas is out due to Pam's mom and her declining health. We just can't afford to be 4 days out from home, we can drive home in 1 day from FLA. That said, looks like we're headed to Orlando FLA for about a week. Should be fun, although I was looking forward to heading west.

Anyway, looks like I'll be able to make the novice school. I've signed up via the link to instruct on Sat, but did that sign me up for both days? If someone only wants to drive Sunday, how do they sign up? Maybe someone can explain how this MSR page works....

If you take away the novice and "I don't know" classes, looks like we have 14 instructors so far, which is VERY good this far out. Really looking forward to making this event now. I can't let Stephen get an event up on me, he's too good of a driver for me to miss any opportunities =)

Rodney, this is an excellent question and one which needed clarification. So I guess as an official event announcement, if you sign up as an instructor on Saturday, you have automatically registered for the following day's event. Just to clarify we have four overall options; 1) Novice in the school, no event registration on Sunday, 2) Novice in the school AND event registration on Sunday, 3) Member or Non-member registration for Sunday ONLY & 4) Instructor in the school AND free event registration on Sunday. If you want to be an instructor but not register for the event the following day please send the registrar an email.

Thanks everyone,

Rodney, I grew up in Orlando. Some of the best normal barbeque can be had at Bubalu's on Lee Road. The place is a converted A&W drive in from the 50's and looks like a dump, but the food is great and cheap. It's also in a bad neighbor. It's an institution. Have a fun vacation.

We need a stand in WC for Sunday. My dad is coming into town Sunday afternoon and leaving the next day so I can't make it. Andrew is going to be out road racing somewhere or something.

Edit:
Also I couldn't figure out how to cancel Sunday without canceling Saturday.

BMWs don't get passed by cars with a third of the horsepower by themselves, Alec.

THSCC welcomes babies too, and what better place to get to know a new family member than a parking lot in Fayetteville?
