As the course designer, in retrospect, I will agree that the offset slalom was maybe a tad fast. (But it was fun) Any future design should consider this as a reference.
I saw one of the car spin and it was the same kind of car that we had spinning before in other events in similar high speed transition and hitting the timer. To me, that car is a little unstable. (I will take every chance I get to say that this car is unstable so keep spinning them out).
One of the things I learn over the years in designing course is no matter how you think the course is safe there always be someone that will try to prove you wrong.

I think the course design was as close perfect as I've experienced in 17 years of autocrossing - including the higher-than-usual-for-THSCC speeds - and the fact that over 500 one-minute-plus runs were completed with nobody hitting anything speaks well for the safety aspect of the course design. Big kudos to Patrice.

Thanks Patrice for the course this weekend and those that helped set it all up. I know I sure would like to have another 6 runs at it. I loved that big left hander at the top of the course; the gate placement up there made it a lot of fun and very challenging...a heck of a lot more fun than just that plain corner which is constant-radius-boring when just driving the track. For those that haven't driven NCCAR plain, you might find it unusual that a course like Patrice setup is a lot more fun than just driving the open track. ;)

I really wanted to see how many cones were knocked down via the THSCC wireless app.

Patrice, If I hadn’t screwed up, I wouldn’t have said anything. It was a very fun and memorable course. The problem is never the novices, but people, like me, who have some experience and they think that they can push it just a hair more. I could have and did on my last run. It’s usually a matter of timing. When one gets late on a slalom, it’s hard to pull it back. The NC Miata is fairly neutral, but on Saturday was set up on the loose side of neutral. I used to keep it a little pushy, but Anders has improved to the point where I don’t worry about him in a car that’s a little loose. I look forward to the next course that you set up.

FYI I had an "almost spin" on my 4th run in the Mustang in the "Fiat Straight" Fortunately the car was "catchable" by a driver who is pretty conservative (when in doubt, bail out  ). Since I was at about 55 at that point it never even occurred to me that it was a "course problem", just me. I don't happen to like "thread the needle runway" type courses but that again is "just me".

Wireless apps don't knock down cones. People driving in the 2nd heat knock down cones.

Nice excuse to use Anders as the reason you set the car up tight.

This is one of the reports I'm planning to include in a future version.

Was the app working at NCCAR? I could load it, answer the questions, etc, but then it didn't show that day's event available to select from...only prior events.

Carlton was in the UK and there's something that needs to be setup and run in order to get the live results.
