Yo,

I'm starting to put together some ideas for the Rham event (I'm chairing it). As you may already know, I like to think up stupid ideas. Here are some I came up with.

- Do another team challenge: 1 stock, 1 non-stock, 1 novice (less than 1 year experience). Get a sponsor who will pay for prizes/t-shirts

- Run a bracket drag race the night before (looking into whether we can), and factor the bracket results into the PAX results for a "THSCC King of the Rock" award.

- Run the open "midnight drags" the night before and award prizes for the lowest TOTAL times, drag + autocross.

- Run the open "midnight drags" the night before and PAX the dragstrip times!!! Award prizes for the lowest added PAX times, drag + autocross.

- Maybe do a combination team/drag challenge. Heh heh heh

Thoughts?

Mike

As long as the course has another nice sweeper with the fuel pumps on the outside (hopefully just after the apex) I'm in.

Maybe an ITR in DS.

I like the idea, but I think we should run the drags before the Laurinburg two day... That tends to be the best time to do it with Friday night drag racing. Think of all the smack talk for that. Plus, a lot of us won't be here for Rockingham due to the Toledo ProSolo :( - AB

you used some for of the word "drag" at least 7 times in your post. Does Kendra know about these tendencies?

I definately agree that we need a trip to the strip this year. I want to see what the Mustang can do.

However, from a T&S point of view, while you ideas sound like fun, they sound like a scoring nightmare! But we have done it before so it can be done again. Just make sure we know well ahead of time so I can get with Carl and ME on getting the computer set up properly.

I think we should do the drags some way, some time. I'd even be up for doing before the Rockingham and Laurinburg events.

All I know is if we do the drag strip in July I'm putting the truck out there.
Any body else up for a tow vehicle drag challenge?

Rice, I'm calling you out. Wanna put that pimpy new 4" exhaust to the test? :D

It's funny, the first thing that popped into my mind when you said that was how long it would take to pull all of my track/autocross crap out of the Suburban to get the drag weight as low as possible :)

2 EZ-ups, 4 chairs, electric winch, fan, come-along, 3 blankets, scooter, box of BMW spares, box of Suburban spares, extension cord, shop light, 2 spotlights, 2 toolboxes, big can of whoop-ass, air tank, electric air compressor, umbrella, 2 fire extinguishers, jack boards, electric impact, bungee cords, etc, etc, etc.

This is the stuff I leave in there all the time. Plus what I have in the trailer box :)

Could we run one car for the drag race and one for the autox???

What about having a tow-truck race with the trailers and race cars still attached! :)

Absolutely. I will roll you

By the time this all transpires, I'll likely have the Edge programmer done, and the Bilsteins, and the Hellwig rear sawy, and the...

See, this is how the stupidity starts...

Drag race tow vehicles? I'm up for it! Can you smell what the Swedish chef is cooking?

The only problem with this idea is that I don't want any current HS cars. :P Well, I guess I could always trade one for a set of Hoosiers or something...

Hey now! The GTi is a rockin autox/rallyx car! And you would surely crush it in a drag race since i can barely get it past 90. PERIOD. Not in a 1/4 mile, not in a standing mile, not thrown off a building.
