OH. here's an alternate solution....I gave my old tire trailer to my son-in-law who in turn gave it to a friend. I'm pretty sure that I still have the original title from Northern. If you are feeling adventurous, shoot me a PM and I'll try to dig it up.

Hi Charlie, thanks for the very generous offer. Looks Ryan might be buying the trailer so he may want your title :-)

If the bill of sale from VA works, what's stopping you from "buying" your trailer from a buddy in Virginia and getting tags for it?

That may have solved the problem Jeremy - good suggestion! I sold it to Ryan and will likely just build a new unit. They are only $224 at HF.

yeah, that doesn't sound right. I just received my plate renewal for an old trailer I have and it's valued at $100. I've rarely heard of tax values going up on cars.

My '81 Datsun was valued at $500 for years and 2 years ago it went up to $600. Maybe they knew about the new tires and a full tank of gas.

When I bought it from Mike in 2006, the first tax bill came with a valuation of $10000. So I went down to the tax office, showed the lady copies of Mike's bill of sale and last Franklin County tax bill, and a photo. She said, "Oh, that's a just a LITTLE trailer", and lowered it to $800. Hopefully I can get the valuation reset by phone and not have to go find where they moved the tax office.
