Buy this one today, run it Saturday. The ad has a phone number so maybe you'll actually get a response :)

I bet it's Auto.

Unfortunately I'm not going to make it to the event. It looks like Erin and I will be around for a bit though, so hopefully I'll make to the next one.

The ad claims it's a manual in the little box, a phone call could confirm.

I hope to see you again before you leave, if not at the next event then maybe the next meeting.

Given the rain forecast 50/50 as of now, is there a plan for a secondary course design that stays on the VDA?

Partly to mostly cloudy with a chance for some light rain, light freezing rain and perhaps some light sleet in the morning. Highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s.

Never fear, WRAL is still going with 55% chance...this ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I guess it depends on which model they're following. At least we know it will change again before Saturday. I like James' model better.

Not that I'm complaining, but it said 'freezing pellets' as the forecast this morning.

Yea, it's hard to put a good spin on "freezing pellets". I don't care who you are.

I prefer the Weather.com Android app version this afternoon. No mention of precip, frozen or not. :)

I am NOT driving in freezing rain on any tires, let alone ZII's.

I think we'll be fine.

Now the killjoys at WRAL are saying this:
Cloudy. A chance of rain...freezing rain and snow in the morning...then a chance of rain in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 40s. East winds around 5 mph

Which one of the A/X VPs is responsible for paying the weather bill?

A chance of rain or freezing rain before 10am, then a chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 48. North wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Of course, if the roads are unsafe for travel, we will make the call, but there is almost zero chance of that being an issue. Plan on the event happening, rain, snow or sunshine until you hear otherwise. I don't know what weather you guys are looking at, but I see 20% chance of rain, low of 34, high of 48 and cloudy.

Due to the potentially variable weather conditions, we are considering split run groups. With attendance as low as it is, we may have two run groups, each with a morning and afternoon session with a brief lunch break in between. Once we lay out the final course and see the final numbers, we'll figure it out.

A note, please help get people to and from the pits. If you are driving down the service road, and see someone walking, offer them a ride. It helps them out and helps the event move along smoothly.

My experience querying weather.com, wral.com and wunderground.com for approximately 7 days before an autox over the last 4 years is that the former two are almost always wrong about inclement weather. Wunderground is the only one that ever comes through for me. Wunderground has been consistently showing cloudy ~50/35 and 30% or less chance of precip. Just saying.

Currently only wral is saying anything undesirable, which makes sense given how badly they botched the forecast for snowpocalypse a few weeks ago. MHO anyway.

Should we unload/prepare our cars in the gravel pits then stage them on the VDA (large asphalt area) before and during the event? If this does not conflict with the course, it could be a big time saver.
