You may need to check the website to see if it is behaving properly.

I just registered in FS but the website is not helping.

No autocross calendar that I can find and no link to Motorsportreg.com (do I need to "do something" to see an updated page?)

Fortunately I realized that we use Motorsportreg.com now.

Thanks,

^^^^this^^^^

the calendar page HAS to be updated for all events and a link posting to motorsportsreg. If not, we'll never get drivers for our events.... I understand transition takes time, but we need to get this info updated!

Don't worry Rodney, this event is posted on the HCMC events page: http://www.hcmcstangs.com/?tribe_events ... ay-march-1
If the Subaru drivers don't see that, no harm done :)

At the moment I'm concerned about competing against Dick Rasmussen. Probably haven't done that in 20 years, and last time I failed to subvert the dominant paradigm

That said, welcome back to FS Dick!

I posted the event on the Grip Syndicate FB page. They've been running time trials there at NCCAR for the last 2-3 seasons so maybe we'll nab a couple from that group.

I don't know that I'll own a car in time for this. I'm having a lot of trouble getting sellers to even return my calls. :(

Yeah, no auto-x entries on the calender for me. If it is just a matter of someone adding it to the website I would be happy to do it but I don't have the ftp credentials.

I know.

The one return call I've gotten was from a Chevy dealer in Greer, SC. They have an '00 on the lot with the options I'd like to have. But my god, look at the color. I don't know if I can get past that.

The private sellers are the ones who ignore me. I wonder if I'm asking too many questions at first. I try to get stuff like that out of the way, and maybe I'm scaring people off because I'm too serious/untrusting/etc?

Having an orange miata is worth 1 second per lap/run.

For some reason that one looks like ass-wipe brown though. The Peal Tangerine on the older MS Protege's looked damn cool IMO.

Penalty right? Vincent is on to something, cars should not be painted the color of any body excretions.

If you see something that is incorrect or needs to be updated on the website, please email webmaster@thscc.com, and copy the appropriate sublist (rallycross@thscc.com, or autocross@thscc.com) so that they can approve the changes. That gets it done the quickest rather than posting on the forums. Thanks all for your help in keeping our information as up to date as possible.

It's not the color of the Mazdaspeed cars though. That color is pretty cool. This one is called Evolution Orange. I've seen some pictures of cars on the internets that look pretty good in that color - but most of them look awful.

I'm 0 for 3 today on cars I've called about.

  • One at a dealer in VA looked good but has neither the torsen nor the suspension package. He at least called me.
  • A '99 at a shady used car lot hours from here might be a '99 Sport. His English was poor. I asked him what color the shocks were, or if he could check the label on the door jamb for the option code which tells me if it's a sport. He said he wasn't near the car and "might" look tomorrow. He did assure me that it "is lower than a normal one."
  • A 10AE up in the Danville area that I've called about THREE times now. It's the right guy because it's the right first name on the voicemail. This time I told him "I am very interested in buying your car and I have cash."

Karl, you're may have already seen & ruled it out, but there's a silver NB on Capital Boulevard at Knox that been there for weeks. 98k, $5700 on the windshield, but brown interior and top. Also, seat covers, which may not be a good sign.

Is it this one?

http://raleigh.craigslist.org/ctd/4314289655.html

Should have the torsen, but no sport package, which may just have to be fine, since I can't seem to find one that isn't baby poop brown. It hasn't been at the top of my list, because of the seat covers, the style bar, and the price. It's ok, but I felt like maybe I could do better.

Mostly I was holding out for one of the two 10AEs I've been wanting. The guy with the one up in VA finally got back in touch with me today, only to say someone's looking at the car tomorrow. SMH.

Really? Do you know how many 944's we have seen at Lemons/Chump races? I'll let you guess why owners sell them for $500. If that's not a good enough reason not to buy one, ask Tom Freeman!
