Any FS entries planned other than Mustangs and BMW's? Should be interesting, especially for those of us (or just me) with absolutely no experience on the "almost R" 200 TW tires at all (Posting my excuses early).

Where can I practice driving a 5.0 Mustang hard on the street near NW Raleigh without risking jail time or serious injury?

Due to some changes in plan, it looks like I'm going to be able to attend this event! Registered in B-Street (thanks Noah).

I don't know about NW Raleigh, but there is a mid-size parking lot behind the warehouse on the North East corner of Capital and the beltline. I like it because it multiple escape routes :)

You can scrub in your tires at the 98/Creedmoor interchange...with reasonable sight distances to ensure clear of traffic runs, etc. Although there was a THSCC member that was cooking along in a 996GT3 and came upon a Highway Patrol license check on one leg of this interchange once upon a time...

I'm aware of that location. Not ideal but possible. I've actually got an approximately 50 diameter "skidpad" masquerading as a center circle in my asphalt driveway which works for scrubbing FF slicks. However, the Mustang might be a tad heavy for the old pavement and also the house is really close. Hmmm.

98 and Creedmoore is not a good place. You can hit 70MPH on the ramps and still not heat the tires up. I used to do it in the new section of Parker Falls, but I think some of the houses have sold and have families moved in. I have done it in the new section of my neighborhood but my wife thinks that leaving tire marks is low class. I'm not allowed to anymore. She believes our neighbors blame us for them, not their own teenagers.

I'll be there Friday afternoon and evening as well. Let me know if you want to share a room.

Only 30 entries, come on people!

This needs to turn around in a hurry.

Go the "Need for Speed" preview at the Regal Cinema at North Hills tomorrow night and hand out flyers :)

Art is volunteering to instruct all acquired "drivers".

You may need to check the website to see if it is behaving properly.

I just registered in FS but the website is not helping.

No autocross calendar that I can find and no link to Motorsportreg.com (do I need to "do something" to see an updated page?)

Fortunately I realized that we use Motorsportreg.com now.

Thanks,

^^^^this^^^^

the calendar page HAS to be updated for all events and a link posting to motorsportsreg. If not, we'll never get drivers for our events.... I understand transition takes time, but we need to get this info updated!

I'm pleased to note that of 23 entrants preregistered for NCCAR on March 1:

7 are driving Mustangs
6 are driving Hondas
6 are driving Mazdas

And as expected, I'm the only entry in F-Street.

Who are Damon and Steve Buus driving the mustangs in SS?

My co-worker's brothers. They have been to events on and off for a few years. Usually in a MR2 with their father.

You should ask them to double check their car classing. I'm not aware of any 1996 Mustangs that qualify for Super Street class.
