The nccar site has fantastic pavement and management. But the autox pad is narrow, so is the racetrack. Other than that is great. We pretty much have a run of the place when we arrive. You can make some super long courses.

I have concerns about us potentially making the site more dangerous during the circuitx stuff by putting in autox elements on a narrow racetrack. Most spins go onto level ground, but there are some ditches, and soft ground after a rain could tip a car over. If we keep doing those I think it would be prudent to have more of a chicaned racetrack rather than an autox course on a race track. It's a slow track even with no cones on course.

I don't know how slow it is, I ran 2/3 of it in 3rd and finished in 4th in a stock Miata. That's spending a lot of time in the 60mph range and finishing in the 70s. I do agree that there is nowhere to go if you screw up. We should run the VDA if it's raining or muddy. That said, the circuitX was one of my all time highs in autoX. Let's keep doing it, but be careful if the conditions are not ideal. Both Anders and I have a high potential for screwing up.

I guess you get my point that zipping up to 85 for seconds then slowing down is probably safer on that surface than constant transitions at 65. Now at a big lot with poles the reverse is probably true.

Most of those corners even on the racing line are probably below 65mph. I don't worry so much about you guys with a car in good condition as I do with someone with 3 events and a worn out evil handling beater.

I wonder what top speeds and corner speeds would be in a FF? Maybe too high for "comfort" in a car without full safety gear and a driver who hasn't road raced it since 1992. :(

Thanks!

Dick, I wouldn't worry too much. I've watched run plenty and have never seen you do the wild thing. You seem to be fast and in control at all times. I tend to imagine that I can make it through a section at blazing speed. Most often reality sucks.

do we have any updated information for the schedule? I've been waiting for something more solid before I start firing off the link the likes of the BMW, Porsche and Ford clubs.

Let me know please, March 1st is creeping up on us....

I'm well aware, and doing what I can. Updates will be posted as I have them. We will be having an event the weekend of March 1/2 at NCCAR for sure.

OK, then I'll send out the 3/1-2 autox event and the HPDE to the clubs. Once you get the schedule ironed out, we can start forwarding to other clubs and get some more drives on board. Thanks for the work Brice, that's tough doing the scheduling....

I'd like to advertise THSCC autocrosses on the Mustang Club's website. When will the first event be posted on motorsportreg?

We also need to take down the old autocross preregistration page http://thscc.com/autocross/prereg_autox.php and replace it with a link to our events on motorsportsreg. Is there way to get a filtered list of only THSCC events on motorsportsreg?

On the top left of the Calendar page select "Events for my clubs." It won't just be THSCC, but it will cut the list down to people you've run with before.

I can't find the THSCC 3/1 event in motorsportsreg. Where the heck is it? I see the remaining 2 tech days, but that's it.... Is the 3/1 event up yet? I also see where the rallyx guys have their schedule. I'm assuming we need to add them to motorsportsreg as well....
