Yes, we do need to keep them under control.

As for this event, we NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS!

Right now, there will be 9 of us with an entire afternoon to play around on an autocross course. Sign up, help out, and get free autocross fun.

MSREG says 17, is that a new development or am I missing something entirely?

Ah, didn't think to check there, duh. I was going off of what I saw here. Technology is hard.

I am not staying over. I was trying to figure out a way that you could have your car there. Of course you are still welcome to drive mine. I could drive the bus up sat morn if I could get a ride back to chris's house or where ever the bus lives sat afternoon. Getting it back home is another thing. Thoughts?

No worries, my wife is coming (along with the dogs). I'll have the 3 there to play with. I WOULD love to take a run or two in your car if I happen to fit (or in any other random cars that people would let me take a run).

Been auto-crossing on and OFF for a while now, yet I find myself driving more OFF than ON.

Thanks to everyone who came out and helped. In particular, thank you to Derek, Jordan, Shawn, Alec, Mark, and my wife "Mrs. Bus" (there are many others I probably missed, this was just off the top of my head). Things went great for the EV challenge, the tightest competition we've ever seen. 1st through 3rd was separated by less than half a second, and the car that won jumped from 3rd to 1st on their last run of the day. They were ecstatic with how well things went, and really enjoyed the ride alongs with experienced autocrossers afterwards (even the kids that got stuck riding in "that slow FWD car"). We got a very nice plaque from them as a thank you. I'll try and remember to bring it to the meeting.

Our test and tune was what I thought was a fun, fast 50 second course (48ish seconds if you are Jordan) using the front straight and VDA. Most people got 10-11 runs, and we were done and packed up by 3:45 ish. Launch interval wasn't great, but with only 21 people, we were focused more on making the course fun and a reasonable length than anything else.

One quick question: Does anyone know where the lock for the rear door of the bus went? We couldn't find it afterwards.

The lock is my bad- I came in the back of the bus during the EV challenge to shut the side door so that the teachers wouldn't keep asking mary for times. I put it down on the table in the bus and forgot to put it back on the door. If it disappeared I'll bring a new one to the meeting this week.

Also, that course was really fun with the added bonus of an exciting stop box after the finish. We should consider running a points event with a similar layout- starting on the track with a fast section and then ending on the VDA.

Thanks for a low key, fun event. My car didn't do too bad on the jacked up, rallyX suspension :)

BTW, where are you posting results?

I had a great time all day and helping out with the EV challenge was a blast. I have been really impressed over the last few years by how good some of the cars are getting. When I first started volunteering for this the cars and trucks were lucky to move under there own power. These days a lot of the cars are legitimately quick and fun to drive.

The T&T course was one of the best I've driven that mainly used the VDA. The launch interval was pretty lengthy so, it might be hard to use that layout for a regular event but it was fun to drive.

We didn't want to get greedy and use the whole track considering the terms of the rental this time around. The launch interval was definitely not good for a points event, but ok for the TnT with so few drivers.

Alec, no need to worry about getting another lock, I'll get us a new set. Its about time we changed the locks on the bus anyways, considering how many people know the current combination. I'll get us a new matched set.
