The new CAM class isn't an option under the permanent number registration on the THSCC page. Will that be updated or will everything be done via motorsportsreg now? How can us old timers keep a number now?

So I think I've reached the logical end point in building the Mazda 6. It's fun to drive and reliable. I've spent a lot of time, but I've been careful not to spend a stupid amount of money on a $1500 car. It will be my track car - hopefully I'll be doing more than 2 events a year. :D

I know what you're thinking, what does this have to do with CAM? Well, I'm thinking of dragging the '67 Firebird into the garage and starting a resto-build with the goal of DD and CAM autocrosser. It appears the rules are pretty wide open with unrestricted brakes, electrical, suspension, engine and drivetrain. Could be a fun build and fun autocrosser. I wonder how much the CAM rules will change as the class matures. I've seen some events broken up into CAM-T (traditional, pre-1985ish) and CAM-C (contemporary) and CAM-S (2 seaters).

Wadaya think?

I say do it.... It's up to the local clubs to subdivide the class if needed. If we start getting additional drivers we can look into a year split like you mentioned, but to Art's point, I think you're a few years away from this =)

It sounds like you guys are challenging me. :poke: Guess I better get busy - when's the next autoX? Oh yeah, 2 weeks in Danville.

You can start by building it to STU, then go from there.

Click past the ad at the beginning to get to his build archive.
