In for Sunday and registered for some RTF fun. Psyched to see if new Rivals are faster than 60 run V710s.

Great time with good people at a fantastic site! Weather cooperated too. 6 runs with a break for lunch. Very transition heavy course, tough to put power down in the morning. High torque cars were even more frustrated while the ST Civics, STS Miata and CRX, and STF Mazda2  took everyone to school.

THSCC represented well with a Matt McGrain and Mike Miller in top 10 Pax. Congrats!

During lunch break I messed with the car and disconnected the rear bar. Dropped 1.5 secs on a 51-55 second course in the afternoon. Helped a ton with adding power on the offcamber sweepers, but I could really feel the difference in slaloms. The front stayed sharp on turn-in while the back was little lazy. Surprisingly easy to adjust to it, may keep it that way or replace the rear springs with something softer and reconnect the bar.

Good way to close out the year.

Fun event for sure and the Fireant was uncatchable. It was great to see the STF Mazda 2 putting down some smokin' times, raw timing cars with almost 2x the power.

Cherry Point never ceases to amaze me and I'm glad I got three events down there this year. I hope we can do another co-event next season to get some more Tarheelers down there. Conversely, maybe we can get some NCR drivers up to NCCAR too.

Running on the new tires was fun and I'm surprised that the overall grip really isn't much different than the Kumho r-comps except in the two sections of the course the required a hard brake then sharp left; the end of the first runway going into the angle slalom and the last sharp left before the finish through the slaloms I couldn't tell the difference in grip.

I'll try to get a video of the course up tonight.

I didn’t notice any problem with torque and getting the power down. I think the NC and the S2K have about the same torque, you just spin faster. I know that someone is going to say, “What Power?” The answer is, “Pucker Power”.

The secret to their course was running tight with a loose car. The course required that you turn early and set the car for the next element. I found that the two tightest turns just required a little touch of the brake with a well coordinated turn.

Steven, you forgot to congratulate yourself for your win in STR. The three of us got first in class, but alas, they ran out of stickers. I feel robbed. Congrats to Jenifer Vance for bringing her new and gorgeous M3 out to play.

160Tq (S2000) vs 140Tq (MX5) probably close on a weight:Tq ratio, though. An STR S2000 car carries ~15 more Tq vs the Street class one.

I really wanted to be aggressive on throttle in one section that was an offcamber sweeper, and spun the car at that spot in the morning session. Softening the rear really helped that. Probably should've carried more speed initially so as not to need throttle, but that's why I need more practice!

I wish I didn't brake so hard entering the angled slalom at the top of the course. Definitely could've used some pucker power there!

You are right, though...the tight line was the fast line.

Sound like a nice course, since your talking of torque the little Abarth as 170@2500rpm.
