As I said before when we were not allowed to drive the Abarth a Z-Max last June a few guys send letter to the SCCA
Here the answer.

#11794, 11874, 11933 Allowing Cars at Events Clarification
Regions are free to make classing changes to suit local needs, provided they comply with all of the mandatory
provisions in the Solo Rules. Section 3 lists requirements for eligible vehicles. As such, a region is allowed
to ban a car model from competition even if that car is classed in Appendix A. Competitors are encouraged to
support those regions that value their participation.

Not the answer I wanted to read but since it is SCCA it is the expected one.
I guess we will not participate in any CCR-SCCA event in an Abarth for the foreseeable future or until the guy in charge
that is calling himself “CCR Godfather of Sol-O” is not there anymore.

Now that CCR let Jadrice run his Abarth at NCAC, their position seems even more untenable--it is inconsistently applied even within owners of the car in question. Regardless, spend your entry fee elsewhere as you see fit. With us, for example!

I don't think the Abarth was run in the actual event? but it did run during fun runs for sure. Sorry for the distant picture, I had to snap it while working. I have to agree with Steve run with THSCC were we love Abarths.

I really enjoyed the NCAC that CCR put on and everyone from the club was very nice with one glaring exception. The "Godfather of sol O" or whatever he calls himself seems to excel at making snap rulings and then breaking his own rules when it suits his own convenience.

I agree with you on this one.

Thanks Shawn for the picture, I was going to ask if anybody was having a picture of it. That might be useful.
Don’t get me wrong, I prefer much more to run with THSCC, I’m not even a member of SCCA.
Since we move here 15 years ago I always keep my THSCC membership. Only PCA is longer with 21 years.
The reason I wanted to go to Z-Max was to see/run the site and also because a guy from SC driving an Abarth was going there.

I suspect that if something were to happen, the insurance company (edit: and ZMax)would probably classify that as a distinction without a difference. Arguably, people drive harder in fun runs (I know I do, even though I try to run 100% during timed runs) maybe because cone counts don't matter so they test limits more willingly.

Next year I'm going to bring the Mazda2 to Zmax and get that sucker 6" off the ground.

I've seen a Trailblazer and a Tacoma run at Zmax. That X-runner on R comps looks WAY more unstable than a Fiat.

I saw a SRT V10 Ram 1500 run at ZMAX.

Thanks for the clarification. That helps understand things a bit better, knowing the purpose behind that. Sounds like a final decision to me! (BTW, where was that quote from? Didn't see it in this thread.)

What was the chief of tech looking for? Lifting a rear tire? Last time I checked a ton of cars do it constantly (Minis, Mazda 2s, ITRs). The stoppie picture is obviously a set-up unless the Abarth is so dangerous that it can lift both rear tires while not applying enough pedal force to stop a free spinning wheel.

Yep, we're a tight knit bunch of arses over there

Not really, I registered in like '08ish and it was just like any other forum to register for.
