So maybe I'll mark the strut top bolts and increase the camber at the event on Saturday.

No brainer - do it! You'll also pick up a little toe out, which doesn't hurt for turn-in.

Yeah, I meant to check if the tie rods are in the front or the rear of the knuckles on this car (being in the front means you gain toe *out* on more negative camber). I'm assuming based on your comment they are, in fact, in the front of the knuckle so that'll be good.

Think about all those non-points you'll lose, James - is it really worth it? :brow:

James, I'll let you use the factory baby spare on the back, that should be legal.

Of course, knowing BMW, that means you have to figure out how to bolt on a can of fix-a-flat and an electric pump. Maybe you can cobble together a mini hover craft?

Solid finish to the 2013 autox year. Thanks to Sam @ NCCAR and the Rob's for a fantastic course.

Note to everybody: Put up videos and link them to all of your friends.

NCCAR is definitely worth the hike now, and with better attendance numbers we will be able to host an even better weekend.

That was the longest and fastest autocross I have ever driven :P Nice job making sure everyone got at least 4 runs. Will the offer for double pay/runs be available at future events?

I thought the run twice thing was a little messy due to the number of people who came. Having two run groups makes it tough.

The event could have been a little smoother for a number of reasons. The Rob's ran out of daylight Friday and had to finish setup Saturday morning. Ultimately we just ran a little behind getting started. During daylight savings time we should find a way to start at 9 rather than 10. We had just finished walking novices through the course at 10:15 instead of finishing the meeting and getting cars on course. Had we done so everyone could have done bonus runs. Everything takes longer when you have a 1.2 mile course from setup to walk throughs to getting heats started.

Overall we pulled it off fine and people seemed positive and there were few agricultural expeditions. We need to really mind our business at NCCAR when setting up a safe course because there are some ditches and armco barriers around since its a racetrack. I could smell brake pad after each run so the course was just about as long as could be. I realize some cars were running out of second gear in a few spots we'll try and make better adjustments next time to either allow the use of the bottom of 3rd gear or shift the obstacles a bit so you guys don't bang the limiter so much. The Corvette only hit the limiter entering the hairpin but it was the only vehicle I had around to test the track with.

Nicely done event! Heck of a way to end the year! Been a LONG time since I've seen a course that long. Kudos to everyone that made this event happen. I hope to see this happening at least twice next year....

It was also fun to have the mustang back out again. I do have to say the current Sumo tires SUCK! NO grip! That said it sure as was fun to drive! That car skated every where and throttle steering was NOT a problem. On my 3rd run I went agricultural myself when I rotated the car coming back onto the front straight. My 4th run was the "best" w/ a lowly 124 something. Managing that car on crappy no grip tires was a handful but fun. Now it's time to get a serious set of tires for it. I'll post up youtube vids later....

Again, thanks to everyone for making this event happen!
