On a 60 second course you get a ~.7 second advantage with STF pax.

Is the NCAC a true 2 day event with a different course each day?

From a PAX perspective, you don't lose as much with streets on that lot as you do in other places... unless it rains. That said, you're setup for HS and have R compounds, so I would roll with that. - AB

Yeah, I looked at the PAX again last night after I posted this. While it would nice to try and trophy in class at this event, I'd like to win the event overall, so I'll stay in STF for the NCAC. Getting my tires and wheels flipped tomorrow so I can take advantage of these lighters Kosei wheels I have. The rs3's are going on the Kosei's and the DWS's go on the stock wheels. I figure I'll dump about 20lb in unsprung weight and hope this helps some. I looked on line and the Kosei weighs at most 15lb a piece. Anyone know what the stock 17" mazda 5 spoke wheels weigh?

So the cup winner is decided by 10 drivers? What's the logic behind that?

Historically HSCC hasn't even had 10 members show up so it's to give them and arguable, us a fighting chance. They take the fastest 10 PAX results from each club, sum it up and the fastest wins. When we did NCAC in 2010 we did sum of top 10 pax and sum of top 10 raw. With the influx of carts in the last 2-3 years, that wouldn't make a lot of sense.

It looks like we're up to 147 drivers. That's quite the increase from last week  In looking at the club affiliations, what is "55"? Not sure what club that is...

21 and holding...

On the bright side, each driver has 50/50 shot of being a Contributing Driver to the Overall PAX score.

Rodney, your chances of getting a trophy are higher in HS, but much lower in STF. As far as PAX and the NCAC Cup are concerned, you've been on the surface at ZMax, but how recently have you've driven on Rcomps? You should decide which tire combo you're happier with and feel most confident that you can drive the fastest to yield the best PAX time regardless of final position in class (and sacrificing personal gain for the team--admittedly a tough choice).

My suggestion is do what you've been doing all season (since you've been driving really well and PAXing high) and swap for the easier PAX (By eyeballing it STF Pax is not too far from THSCC's TIR-HS multiplier). That means you have only one variable with which to contend (track surface) as opposed to two (learning/relearning RComp feel, plus learning how RComps feel at ZMax.)

I thought about jumping to RTA in the WRX for NCAC, but realized that they are not pax'ing RT classes. Given my improving familiarity with the S2000 and having driven there three times this year I elected to stay in STR.

I weighed of 2 of my current autox wheel/tires and they are 42lb each. I didn't realize they were that heavy. We'll see what tomorrow brings in regard to weight reduction. I guess I could loose some weight as well

Exlax and time in the sauna FTW.

And just out of curiousity are we SURE they aren't doing the RT PAX bonus?

You'll probably loose 6-7# per corner I'd guess. Both my Civic and IS300 17"x7" wheels were right at 23# and I can't imagine the Mazda wheels being much lighter even with the 6-1/2" rim width. I swear I could almost feel the difference when I ran my race wheels on the Civic versus stock.

Just run STF and drive like you did this weekend and things will fall into place.

So, is it a two day event with different courses, or can one day suffice? I'm trying to not have to run on Sunday if possible. - AB
