Were they on East or West on day two? The two courses were very different. East was high speed with a lot of digs. West was pure speed maintenance. (Just to add to your equation.)
The 2008 M3 was faster on the East Course. From FP and CM videos it looked like some of the fastest segments required REALLY good handling to be able to use the speed from the digs. It will be interesting to see what happens on Street tires if the M3's are more balanced and/or can put the power down better than the Mustangs.
