If you have never done this, I highly recommend it! It's a great event to treat as a test-n-tune, play with tire pressure/ set-up, drive other peoples cars, ride with other drivers and get lots and lots of seat time. I have a wedding to attend Saturday, so I plan to be there for late registration Saturday at 6.

Who else is in?

If I can find another set of tires and wheels, then I'm in!

For anyone who has done this before, how much seat time did you get? Also, does anyone know if being a thscc member gets you scca discount?

It's different for every region. I know we have in the past with NCR but we loose $5.50 with every entrant having to pay the SCCA weekend membership fee so we/you are covered by the clubs insurance. For us the decision is usually based on site fees.

Alec, As long as you can stay awake, you'll get as much seat time as you want. Things tend to die down after midnight and there are lots of times when you can take a run and pull right back up to the start for another with no wait.

I haven't been to a 24 hour event in years, but the last one I attended I think you had to work 2 hours for every 12 hours you were there. So 4 out of 24 hours you had to work. The rest of the time you could be running or at least waiting in line to run. They did the rolling line instead of grid so at the busiest times the line could get long and boring. Like Jordan said in the wee hours of the morning the line gets pretty short. I was actually thinking about going to this if I can work it out with my work and family schedule.

Good point about working. It's 2 for every 12 at this event also, so you'll have to stand in one spot for a couple of hours. I worked start last time to keep it interesting, but even for those working the course, after a few hours driver's learn the course and cone counts drop off a bit.

Long time for me also, we did it in 1999 and 2000 when it was in Charlotte, got FTD in 2000 with the 911.
Since the Abarth is not that welcome at the CCR event I think I will have to pass.
But NCR is having an AX in Wilmington Sept. 1st that might be worth considering.

Alec and I are registered, so far as I know we are the only Tarheeler's going. When I checked yesterday, only 5X people were registered so it looks like lots of seat time!
