so can we drive both days or only Sunday? Be happy to have ride alongs, although I lack serious power...

As James said, feel free to register and run with NCR on Saturday (I plan to). Their "Marine Novice school" is not a separate event or anything, all it is is they ride along with the Marines during their runs (maybe they get extra runs or something). I don't know how to volunteer to instruct for this or what the benefits are, but maybe John Byers can chime in.

I'll be there both days. They have a group hotel rate on the FB page which I've booked a room at. Info below:

Quote:
Event Hotel Info.
Holiday Inn Express
103 Branchside Drive, Havelock , NC 28532
Hotel Front Desk: 1-252-4479000
We have 10 King Standard rooms (they have pull out couches) and 10 rooms with 2 double beds. The rate for both rooms is $99 a night. The block is under “NCR-SCCA Autocross”.

Correct, we started a new novice school program at CP and it seems they are really liking the new format getting to run two actual events in the course of the weekend. Its a bit more work for us (like I feel like I've been on a roller coaster all day  ) but it makes the Single Marine program happy but most importantly makes the Marines happy and that's what's most important.

With that said, we would love to have many of the experienced guys come out and give a hand doing instruction with these guys, they respond to feedback extremely well and enjoy us taking time to help them, it's been a very rewarding experience in my case.

We would love to have you guys come and run with us both days. Your prob already getting a room for Sat night, you get a discount for running both days so why not come on out and have some fun!

So for those of us who are there for Saturday, do we just drive during our run group and then for one of the other run groups, we ride along with the Marines during their runs? Or is there a separate run group specifically for the Marines novice school?

Drive during your run group and typically use the instruction as your work assignment.

Thanks, John. I plan on being there both days and you can surely count me in for instructing the Marines. Do I need to sign up for that elsewhere?

So, if we are instructing, are the Marines driving their cars or ours? I don't mind sharing mine out, assuming it's fixed in time.

Regarding the additional security, any concerns/issues with spectators?

Spectators are required to register as well. There should be a class designation for "Spectator Only" or similar on the MSR site.

Don't forget to sign up ladies and gents

Great site with lots of room to play with, typically a very fast and flowing course. Even if you are on the fence you must preregister to have a chance at going.

Please, please, please preregister

Cliffnotes: Preregister for Points event #8!

seriously...I only see 23 Tarheeler names on the registration list (granted I don't know everyone, so apologies for those I overlooked!) out of 86 total. Don't wait until the last minute....
