Just checked the registration page, and a Fiat Abarth from SCR is registered in GS....is that the guy they earlier rejected?

Yes, but we both still showing as registered on the Abarth.
I still didn't received an e-mail from him.

The other Abarth received an e-mail last night and here what he send me.

He wrote me back and said that's the way it is, that for whatever reason that this autocross is higher speed than most, etc.

I will also just show up and share my son's Miata if I have to, but I'm not happy.

So I also wrote to the South Carolina region Solo guy and included all the emails I have, and asked for his help or at least some more explanation on why one region is excluding the Abarth.

I'll let you know how that turns out!

I was planning to ask for the supplemental regulation listing all the cars that are disallowed but i will wait for the outcome of what he is trying.

NCR allows them, bring it on out to Cherry Point for the August event as we would love to see it out there!

Look like we will not be driving Abarth at Z-max next week, here what the other guy send me:

the SC region Solo guy says he will back up the CCR ruling, so we are not going to be driving any ABARTHS next Saturday.

Do you think I should still ask him for the supplemental rules listing of all car disallowed or should not?

I'm jealous. I've never had a car with brakes that good.

That's a possibility but after driving the Miata with BFG Rival at CMP the other weekend I am now curious to see how they are in an AX.
I was surprise by the grip they have and when I compare the data from the last time I was there with the Porsche on sticky tire with the one from the Miata
the cornering G and speed in the corner are the same.

I dunno if I can make it, though with a wrx that has epic body roll I wanna see how it cant run! If there is a jump there... My girl can take it, she can do alot of things actually. Our e30 is so low, I dunno if I can turn it over without somethign drastic, it can three wheel with the front up, but you have to go stupid fast to do it. 8) The subie has body roll like a cow has moo.

This is some dumb shit. Looking at the original picture if the car was flat on the brakes the rear wheels would be stopped. How on earth are people involved in the sport still this stupid. Obviously this is a stunt of some sort.

Here's a link to the forum post with a course map, 3rd post from the top. Having never been to the site, I am uncertain of the scale, but this looks like it will be the longest autocross course I have driven, not to mention the number of elements. 3 separate slalom sections! This will be Monica's (my wife's) first event.

Jordan, if you go to the solo section of the CCR website they have scale drawings of all their sites. it's about 150' between lightpoles. Overall dimensions (of the portion they use for autox, not including grid and paddock) are easy to determine from Googlemaps, and measure ~469m by ~222m overall, give or take. The sweeper at the top of course is off camber downhill, and I suspect you will be in third gear through The Stones section. Middle section of the course near the Box and the Bully there is a swail where some drains converge. Final section is a little downhill, slopes from right to left.

Here's an example of the site, (not a great example of how to drive it!) running a similar course in the same direction as Saturday's will be.

Patrice,
the caption under the picture says it was under braking, but I agree with you Rob, neither front nor rear wheels are stopped. I suspect it was a jump set up to look like a front wheelie...the abarth itself is a highly modified race car with a larger brake system more powerful engine, aero and stripped down interior. here's the link to the article

Yep, and the one pictured is actually a tuned Abarth by German company CarTech.

And here's the full image set including the "stoppie" image.

It is odd that the wheels aren't turning if it's supposedly braking. Could be a jump like Bernie said, or maybe a reverse FWD wheelie? Either way, I don't think there's any argument that it's more unstable than a lot of other Solo cars. Seems ridiculous that CCR would ban them.
