How does the points work at the end of the year? Drop 2 events or 6 events total?

It's under discussion.

In an attempt to appease some of the concerns raised regarding the two-day format, another option would be to have each day be its own points event, making a total of 9 points events for the year. We announced at the beginning of the year that we may have 9 events, however limited site availability means we probably won't unless we split the Jimmy V event.

This would mean people could attend one day (either day) and still collect points, or attend both days and earn twice as many points.

Thoughts? Concerns? Flames? 8)

Since you put it out there, I like this idea. I would likely have shown up for one day in any case, but that i could get in a full event for one day is a good thing. I might even make the second day under this format to make up for the fact that I had to bail on last weekend at the last minute.

I'm with Bill, I like this idea.

Me too.

One more vote in favor of this idea.

I support it as well, no mater which way we decide to handle season points.

+ another 1 for two separate events. However I don't really have a dog in the fight since I'm planning on being there both days.

I would definitely say drop 3 for 6 events total if you're going to do it this way. I will not be there, but I like the idea of two separate points events as well, of course I'm the guy who likes and pushed for 2 days/same course, run one, the other or both in the past.

+ another 1 for two separate events , since I missed the first 2 events that will help for the points in the championship.

Okay, due to the overwhelmingly positive response to the proposed change, we will run the Jimmy V as two points events and will count your best 6 event results of the year for season points (dropping 3 events).

Thanks for all the feedback. This should be a fun event...er, events. :)

Watch for the website, facebook, etc. to be updated in the coming days.

Sweet, that's the outcome I was hoping for since I've missed/out of class'd 3 events.

It should work out for you anyway. I'm bringing the Vette for Jimmy V since I won't have time to deal with the Miata in between going to Road America and a trip to SC .

Deal with it? I thought the plan was to run it into the ground?

Pretty much, but this way I can just leave the trailor hooked up to the Vette when I get home
