Yesterday really was a great event despite the heat.
Here is my fastest run:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82HOfHCY1scNote the initial fist pump was not positive, but negative since I got no wheel spin and bogged terribly....I could not get a good launch yesterday

. I also got loose right before the turn around (not sure how that happend while going straight

). On my last run (which I almost spun on so the time sucked) I was coming out of the sweeper at the far end on throttle probably 45 degrees from the actual exit cones which I did not on the run above. Then I couldn't quite do the two offset/askew slaloms very well (you can see I got a bit loose on the first one....this was my element that I setup but I couldn't drive it for crap). Anyway, I really satisfied with the balance of the car yesterday, finally getting a bit of on throttle oversteer.
Highlights:
- Setup day only took like 2 hours....we setup the course and drove it and it was damn near awesome with take one....a bit too fast so we slowed it down a bit and timed it and were getting near 60s which is awesome for NCCAR....so we were at San Jose at like 5:15 drinking beer and eating mexican food
- James Milko was fast *AND* his car didn't break
- Keith Quistoff ran out of gas on course (yeah typical rotary).....Jeremy's car almost ran out of gas. Kevin Butler saved both of our asses with the gas he had on his trailer...many thanks
- Ram spun and hit the cheap side of the timing gear at the finish. Unfortunately we did not have a spare reflector on the bus. Enter Sam True to save the day by taking the broken one to the NCCAR shop and drilling it out and having it back to us shortly. As punishment, I propose that Rodney and Ram get together and rebuild the two broken ones that are at Rodney's house and bring them to the next event
. - Rob Lupella had a shit-eatin'-grin when he drove Milkos car and learned what power in a Miata was.
- The name of the even was 'Are you Faster than your Codriver.' Jeremy put down his last run where the scratch time was a tenth faster than mine but it was dirty.....would have been ironic.
- Rodney raw timed Vincent and Ryan. I smell a dashplaque a brewing: "Who lets Rodney raw time you"
- Noah and Milko are tied to the 1/1000 s in PAX....someone do the math to see how the rounding worked out to break the tie
