Good points for sure and what's also going to be interesting is to see how many cars gets reshuffled classwise as I'd imagine some cars will feel a different impact being back on streets versus race rubber. Rick Ruth is going to be one busy dude! :P

I'm leaning towards a set of 195 ZII's this summer for DD'ing and occasional autocross action but the Toyo R1R's seem pretty competitive and come in the 'magic' size of 195/50/15. If I can get 12k miles out of them and several autocrosses, I'd be happy but the 140TW scare$ me a bit. Hmmm...

I think your car is a bit too heavy for the R1R, I'd ask around for sure.

A certain STR national champ ran 235 R1Rs on his S2000 and liked them a lot....so if ~2800# is OK I bet an ITR could run them. Maybe not in August in NC heat, but probably in October or April...

235 != 195

Andy told me I would destroy R1R's on my 2700'ish lb Focus.

Looking at registration entries for this weekend's event, some TIR/RT class cars show a class like RTFS while others (like mine) show TIR. I assume this is since the people with the TIR showing are permanent number holders while the others have registered without having a permanent number. Time to fix update the permanent number page option? I assume these all get folded up easily anyway into TIR/RT class.

Yep, you are correct. I'll work on fixing the perm numbers though it might be moot for next year, so I'll just scrub the event files and move TIR (*) cares over to RT(*)

{facepalm} Clearly, your reading skills > mine

Truthfully, I was thinking more about the "cars heavier than STCivic can run R1Rs" angle and completely ignoring the 195 issue.

Thanks for the info Ryan and that definitely makes sense. The Integra is right around 2600# so I'm thinking a set if ZII's will get the job done but I still wish the Rivals were available in a 195 as the 205 is a bit chunky for 6" wheels.

I was wondering if my favorite stock category allowance would survive the transition to street category.

In fact, it's been liberalized quite a bit.

proposed Street Category 13.8.F.2:
Camber bolts may be installed and one bolt’s mounting point(s) on the strut’s lower integral mounting bracket
may be slotted. Caster changes as a result are permitted.

Existing Stock class rule 13.8.E:
If offered by the manufacturer for a particular model and year, the
use of shims, special bolts, removal of material to enlarge mounting
holes, and similar methods are allowed and the resulting alignment
settings are permitted even if outside the normal specification or
range of specifications recommended by the manufacturer. If enlarging
mounting holes is specifically authorized but no material removal
limits are specified, material removal is restricted to the amount necessary
to achieve the maximum factory alignment specification.
