Burnie and Steve, Thanks for tire info. Unfortunately, michelin only makes stock sizes and only for PS2s. I'm definitely getting the Super Sports for the MazdaSpeed. I didn't know that Z06s had a problem with oil temperature. Chevy needs some Mazda engineers. I have also heard that rear end coolers help. I'll consider that when I get good enough to heat it up. For the oil cooler, would you install an oil thermostat also?

Quality oil coolers should have a built in thermostat. If this is car you plan on DDing or driving in cold weather it is suggested.

Bernie, is the consensus still that the oil pools in the heads and causes LS motors to pop?

Prep for 2013? Finally got my flooring installed. Been sitting under my workbench for 8 years. Emptying the garage was a bitch!

Was the lift not fastened to the ground or is that what those dark things on the right are?

Good Lord! Bet that took more than a weekend to clear, especially considering you had to remove the lift. Looks nice! What flooring did you put down?

Looks great, Mike!

I've been wanting to do my floor . . . and move my lift to the other bay . . . and repaint the lift . . . and do some electrical work . . . and . . .

I just can't seem to find time to take the shop off-line long enough. Hat's off you you, though!

Rodney - 1/8" Armstrong VCT tiles from Home Depot. Need to wait 2 days before applying the sealer / polish.

James - the lift was bolted down with the 8 concrete anchors you see in the pictures. I lifted it off these with a hand truck and rolled it out of the garage on 1.5" steel fence posts.

Did a mini writeup here:

I can only aspire to having a nice garage like Mike; looking at loan repayments is tough sometimes.

Double post: What have I done to get ready for 2013? Be terrible at fuel systems. This looks safe, right?\

Got a seriously bad case of "while I'm in there-itis". Maybe someday I will actually again work on a car in my garage, but for now it's time to refinish my old rusty green cabinets and crappy stained 15 year old hardboard counters:
