Snow in Leesville (NW Raleigh - I540 and Leesville Road) since about 9:30 AM. Sticking to grass, etc.

Almost! It wasn't cold enough to stick, but there's a special level of lunacy for what we just did.

Brice said the points event Sunday could be delayed if there was ice there in the morning, but the plan was to run when I left.

[There was a great deal of snow around 7:30 outside Yanceville on NC86. Hard enough to have nice soupy slush. And then a few miles later... almost dry pavement.]

The event should happen tomorrow. Still nothing stuck to the roads. Plan on running, the course is set up. We will only cancel if the event would be unsafe to run, which right now doesn't appear will be the case.

Obviously, you are responsible for your own personal safety in getting here. If conditions are not safe for you to drive to get here, stay home but from what I understand, things should be ok.

Low of 27, with moist roads....drive carefully. I may balk at the drive, as driving was a bit more "white knuckled" than I was expecting. I can't imagine driving up at 7 am will be any better. Sigh.

If I can't get there in time to do a novice walk, I would like to get the novices together for a mini-class before they drive in their run groups.

Edit: 11:00am for first car off could be a good idea...air temps may be above freezing by that point.

All,

We are instating a 1 hour delay for tomorrow's Autocross. We will still be hosting the even event as usual, otherwise. It should be sunny all day, but cold. This delay is the mitigate possible ice dangers because of freezing tonight.

Today's test and tune was awesome, so we hope to see you Sunday for the points Autocross event, with a one hour delay.

Dude, racing was nuts man. The turnaround was drifted by me in 2nd gear and full lock. No power steering makes for a real workout on track.
I hope to eventually make it work again, but the engine and all needs to work right first.CMP here we come if tomorrow goes well.
RWD and heavy foot and summer tires means lotsa sideways action. actually got a 44.9something plus one in a run today. the rest were 45 seconds.
Lotsa spins today, although given conditions that is to be expected. Working the course was about as miserable as it gets. I really hope sandblast is nice weather.
Although there we bring our gas heater with us, and a tarp to sit under and chairs and so on. The subie crowd sure wowed with some great point to point speed with awd .

So you were the one in the rx8 slipping all over! The black bmw was skipping at idle, so may not be perfect yet, DAMN! Oh well, old parts you know.
Anyhow, abs is your freind i must say. The rwd and not much power meant that it can be hurled around aimlessly, did you see the silver brz spin at turn one.
Right out the gate,as much as I tried i did not spin the car.the slalom course was fun too.The cone at the stop box far side, that is down mysteriously is my fault.
I came into it sideways, and could not stop, and slid into it. Rodney saw me do it.The e30 is coming together though, slowly. We need more e30s at autocrosses though.
