Sure looks like I might have had a better time if I could find ST tires that fit and have run in the first or second heat.

Anybody make narrow 20 and 22.5 inch diameter 140 TW tires that work on a 5.5 X 13 rim? :? :? Maybe I better check the vintage racing tires . . .

Impressive results by you guys. I realize that there was lots of gravel in heat two since even from corner one I could see it on the other side of the course during heat one. Maybe my rain tires would have done better . . . until the tread grooves filled up with gravel.

In the 2nd heat if you went an inch off the racing line, you started to understeer through the marbled like you hit ice. But on line the grip was good.

Problem I was having regarding going off line was seeing the line from so close to the ground. Plus it seemed like each run the gravel was in a place that had been clean on the previous run . . . or it could have been my poor memory. For my car even at very low revs in a tall second gear power oversteer was even more likely than understeer. I have no idea how the V8's could even get around the course let alone do well. Great driving!

That's OK. Good practice. Great fun. Got interesting data from my new wheel speed sensors and throttle position sensor. Since the tires stayed "cool" they were easy for my wife to clean . . . which is her main criteria.

I'll shop vac the gravel out of the car soon . . .

In Rob's Z06 holding first gear around the entire course was actually kinda fun, dorifto! I wish I had done that on every run, even with all the drift action it proved to be my fastest.

The surface reminded me of the early days in Sanford. Lots of grit, to the point where I think sticky street tires might have been faster than slicks. Oddly, after a season at Sanford the grit really seemed to go away.
