Any interest in reverting to Daylight Savings Time for this event (i.e.: starting earlier) to avoid the early setting of the sun? I could probably drag my butt out of bed a little earlier. On the other hand if we have fewer than 50 entrants we should be able to get in lots of runs and still not drive home in the dark.

I have ALWAYS been an advocate of starting at 9am :). Even before being a VP, I was always on site at 7:30 :).

Others?

You people are sick I tell you, sick.

Les, as the president elect I would expect better of you.

So, is this a go or no-go? If we're going to run this, I need to shop for a rear bar for the 3, if not, I'll wait and find a used one some where. Do we have a drop dead date for this event yet?

...had a feeling folks weren't done with auto-x this season. Especially those with automotive ADD that have different cars since the last event or just want to drive one of the 'other' cars in the stable.

I really like Jordan's idea so a half dozen runs or so (should be easy to pull off if we keep the launch overlay short & sweet), then fun runs. We'll see...

Art,

Do you have all season daily driver tires? If so, they might be better in the cold than the stickies. I ran the EVO school yesterday in my Mustang on the oem 18 inch Pirelli 400 TW all seasons and per my DL1 had cornering peaks over 1.0 g, braking around 0.8 g, and acceleration from launch (in second gear of the automatic) of 0.5 g's. I was pleasantly surprised. I don't think it would have been much higher in the CM car on "frozen" slicks which when warm/hot allow 1.5 g cornering and 1.0 plus braking.

Yes, my DD tires are OEM spec Pirelli P Zero Neros M+S. I guess this would be one way to even out tire wear, since my alignment has trashed the inside shoulders.

I've never heard of a Pirelli 400 TW? Is it is a new model?

Art,

My tires are also the P Zero Nero M+S. TW is autocross forum abbreviation for treadwear rating.

I haven't measured the remaining tread but visually they still look very good after 24 runs. I asked Sam Strano about tire pressure to preserve the tires and he said that these tires are VERY good about not rolling over and suggested 36 psi front and 32 cold for my 18's (8 inch wide rims). At 36 psi cold they behaved very well and did not "self destruct" at all. They do have a nice "texture" to the tread now. Between me, Sam, and Mike Johnson they certainly were used hard. FYI camber is whatever is oem from the factory on a 2012. I suspect that the cold weather may have helped.

Based on what my tires did you probably won't even out the tread . . . which is a good thing.

Not official official, but semi-official. :D I have to find a place to live first, I'm currently under contract on this house, hopefully everything works out and we can close in a reasonable time, short sells are a PIA.

Where do I submit my resume for this inspector job?

I'd assume its good, certainly lots of people fishing about. A boat will definitely be in first order, there is sssssooooo much to do on the water there and so much water upon which to do it. If you look a little north of that place, just north of Clearwater Beach there is a place called Caladesi Island State Park which is frequently ranked as one of the best beaches in the USA and it is essentially only accessible by boat. If I were moving tomorrow I'd probably go look at this one right away http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/boa/3322215913.html its yellow and its got a Chevy V8 so very appropriate, hopefully the accessory belts stay on. :D
