Awesome event, very fun. I had to bail early, as my wife was still a bit sick, but I had a ton of fun driving Rodney's new ride. Thank you for all the kind wishes, still hoping my car is salvageable, we will see tomorrow. Getting psyched for the chrismtas party! Matt, James, I owe you some beer for making this event run so smoothly. Great job.

Still hoping it's salvageable!?

Dang, Brice...sorry to hear it. I hope it is not as bad as it sounds.

The event was fun as all get out. I had a big weekend, Take Kwon Do was good for me.. Then the autocross was good, because it was fast and flowing and challenging. I put everything I possibly had into each run, and it showed in my times. I was loving it, the times fell all day expect for one run. I over shot the chicago box by going in too fast, and my abs freaked out, causing me to slide into the cones. Later I realized my mistake and backed up and went around the cones, it got me out of the dnf I would have otherwise caused! THANK YOU! Anyhow, little carnage there since we had so many people in fast fast cars. One spin in a brz, a off in the vette, the kart spun a few times. Not too many bad things happened really, I have seen much worse.Fun event, I now need a new set of bridgestone potenza mud and snow tires though. Mine are shot! The wrx is fun but it eats tires if you are aggressive. Soon we hope to have the 325is running again, and I will once again be in a 2wd car.. Need to realearn everything I know now in my wrx, adn readjust for 2wd again. Next year should be a big year for us.

That course was a masterpiece! Every single run I foud little areas where I could stay on the throttle a little longer and push a little more. Thanks again James and Matt.

Every run I found places that I could mess up a little bit differently -- but I agree it was a fun course. Thank you to the organizers!

General suggestion for next year:

The T&S workers should be given cans of spray paint. One can of quick-dry white, and another can of quick dry black. When we see a car with incoherent or contradictory class numbering (ex: SSM 195 X NOV CSP 79, with a random diagonal strip of painters' tape for garnish), we will:
1) Instruct the starter to hold the car at the start line
2) Run over to the offending car and spray down the door in white paint
3) Politely ask the driver for his/her actual class and number
4) Spray the actual class/number on the door in big, black letters and numbers
5) Advise the starter to release the car.

There may be a few hiccups when this is first implemented, but I think this will ultimately make for smoother event operation.

The paint can also be used to ward off people who violate the "don't bug the T&S workers rule". :)

Great event! The BRZ took a beating for some reason, but it's performance can't be faulted. The course couldn't have been much better for the car. On my best run I managed to get the rev limiter in three spots on course, but never felt the need to shift up or down.

I didn't even mind getting beaten in my own car.

Truly a good time! Thanks again to all those who put in the hard work to make it happen. I thought the course design was great with a nice mix of elements and plenty of places for me to screw up. The turn around right before the finish was my undoing most runs as the course seemed a little looser on that end and I went into full fast and furious drift mode down there. It was fun but slow :D

I was really happy with the BRZ as well even though I was a couple seconds off the pace Scott and Matt set down. The car responds really well to tire pressure adjusts and is right at home on an autocross course.

Thanks again everyone and looking forward to seeing ya'll at the Christmas party :sing:  :sing:  :sing:

Agreed, great event and the weather was a huge bonus! Having almost 80 drivers for a December event is outstanding! It was also great getting beaten by Brice in my car. Good to see that mazda 3 has potential. As for me, damn, going to have to undo years of rear wheel drive training in order to pilot that car well. A decent set of tires for the next event should help....

Good course! The Wrecks was fun to drive, but I really can't wait to return to CSP next year. Good job driving the doors off of the Miata, Jordan. :o

But Art, I'm planning on running SSM 195 X NOV CSP 79 next year.

Tires definitely will help, although those DWS's did a lot better than I expected. The car is very nicely set up. Those shocks are nice, similar performance to my konis without the punishing ride of the excessive rebound damping I had dialed in on my konis. You'll have to see if it provides enough roll stiffness once you get stickier tires. I also might try the more agressive setting on the rear bar, the car seemed great in the transitional stuff, a bit pushy still in the steady state cornering. If you can keep it under control under braking (when the car REALLY wants to rotate) I think that could be even faster that way.

It was fun. Turns out some of the strange handling traits I was getting from having the new gigundous front sway bar were due in part to having my drivers side rear shock on full soft.

Edit: The bit just after the long slalom was fun as hell. Turning left over the bump with the gas on was a riot.

First actual event for us in 2 years, I think. A fun course, great to see some old friends, and great weather! Thanks to all!
