To all those who bailed out: It was raining much harder in Durham yesterday morning than it did all day at NCCAR. The course was fun (my favorite so far at the site) and you missed out! :stick:

To the event chairs and VPs: Thanks a bunch, I had a great time!

To Brice: If you need any assistance getting the results massaged and/or posted, shoot me an email.

Yeah. I actually woke up for this one. Packed Laura's car and made my way to NCCAR. Got about 1/10th of a mile down Fayetteville Rd and the reality of how hard it was raining in Durham (In a storm that was heading east) set in and I just turned around and went back to sleep. I would have loved to take a shot at Rob in the same car but it'll have to wait for another closer, dryer event.

Wimp, it never rained hard - just consistently. BTW the General Altimax's are crummy AX tires even in the rain

it may take just a tad longer than usual though due to some times needing to be fixed and some other things.

I almost slid off the road on 64 around Zebulon, and had flashes of Les and Matt's experiences while I was driving . Front tires were at the wearbars, and my to-do list for this week entailed swapping out for my other set of fronts for NCAC. After a near-miss involving a bridge I bailed because I couldn't get there, knowing full well the weather was likely to be better at NCCAR than where I was.

Yeah, I pulled onto 440 from Wake Forest Rd. and not a 1/2 mile down, I had a nasty hydroplane with the rear 255's (not too far from wearbars). One of those ones where it feels like the back end shifts a foot or two at 60mph. I was pretty bummed but just told myself to drive smart and if it meant intentionally getting dfl in STR, so be it.

Let's just say the surface was 'moist' all day but not much standing water like the event before. I'll try to post a video I took tonight from atop Mt. NCCAR of Brice and Steve (nice job in TIR class man!) taking a run.

waitaminnit...your rears are near the wearbars already? You and I got new tires at about the same time, and my 245s have ~8/32s of tread left after 60+ runs and 3k highway miles.

Clearly, I am doing something wrong. :whoknows:

Hmmm... not sure why but I'll have to measure the tread tonight and see what it is. I've got about 50 runs on them but about 7k miles with about half of that on the highway.

Came home today a bit early, jacked the car up to prep for the camber kit install and found this

No idea if it happened on course or before we got there.

What are we looking at? Is something broken or is it a leaking strut?

Front sway bar end-link was disconnected. Hence the massive body roll we had.

The endlink broke at the connection to the swaybar. Probably helped put down the power, certainly didn't help with the massive body roll. Its a known Focus weakness
