Keith is there anything in the sport package that helps performance that you can swap in ST*? If not I'm just going to get a base and do the radio control on the steering wheel swap as a comfort/convenience mod since that is the only thing I care about in the sport package.

Nothing that can't be added on STF. Though it does come with an integrated sway bar in the rear suspension so you could just add the extra sway bar that Progress makes for better rotation and less rear spring. I imagine the integrated rear bar might be a PITA to add on your own from what it looks like but I have no clue.

Can you explain 'integrated rear bar'. I haven't been under a Fit yet.

James,

Now that I have broadened out my search to 16" wheels, there are actually quite a few options in the 4x108, some even 7.5" wide, $110/ea. Don't write off the Ford just yet.

How much do they weigh?

17lbs

Not bad for $110/piece.

So Keith, it seems that on the FIt sport, when you install the Progress 19mm rear bar, you don't remove the oem welded one, you just add to the roll stiffness, whereas with the Fit base, you don't have the integrated one in the first place so when you add the Progress 19mm rear bar, you only get part of the stiffness. I think in an ST* class I'm ok with this since I can make up for it with rear spring.

Not to mention that the rear bar options for the Fit aren't even truely sway bars since it's a torsion bear rear suspension, they are just further stiffening the torsion beam.

Keith, does your Fit have rear toe/alignment issues? The 09+ apparently has no way to adjust rear toe and it seems common for it to go out of wack. The 07-08 had bolt on hubs such that SPC could produce shims to correct toe but not on the 09+.

I guess the torsion beam attachment points could be shimmed, but I bet that is a precarious process. Luckily in STF, running lots of toe out won't be necessary due to suspension and camber modifications.

I haven't had any toe or alignment issues with mine. I am just now needing to replace the OE tires at 37,000 miles after Alyssa took the Chick School.
