Doesn't the government already have all our SSNs? :brow:

Its their turf, you have to play by their rules, that's exactly what they will tell you. They are seriously more difficult to deal with any other base in the area. They still have an air show every other year, that's the only time things get relaxed, for now. I deal with this on an almost daily basis.

What about a current passport? I think I still have one that hasn't yet expired.

Of course gov't locations like the IRS and FBI, etc, have access to your SSN but not the club receiving the registrations for this event, nor *all* of the locations that data will be transmitted through and stored once it is given out. You're welcome to be free with yours of course, but "trusting" the secure storage of one's data, especially when it is coupled with additional personal information is up to each individual. The more you can limit the usage and storage of your SSN, the happier you will be in the long run. Only speaking of a been there and done that aspect of having to clean up after the situation I spoke of above. Many entities that request your SSN have no legal right to ask for that data (i.e. doctors, hospitals, for example). In this case, they have no need for that data, and unless they provide everyone with a privacy policy which you sign in agreement of, I wouldn't be surprised if it is illegal for them to collect this information. ;)

Your SSN concerns are being well represented as we all (NCR) have the same concerns.

Thanks for the overwhelming support and patience

I had security clearance when I worked there as a contractor, but I'm guessing it is void since I changed jobs.

As for felonies - you said CONVICTION, right? Ok, I'm good.

Nope, the base wants a 50 state background check and a Local Record Check on all persons entering base. They used to allow us contractors to run it ourself but being in general scum of the earth as lots of contractors are, they started faking them. Now they want to run them, 48 hours in advance of showing up.

I think I'm good. I'm on the Grand Jury this year and I don't think felons are allowed. :D

I don't have much of a problem with MCAS asking for it, but the intermediary thing is very troubling. Could be a dealbreaker for me.

What are the go/no-gos for the background check?

My boss is ex-military and he said that it's probably just outstanding warrants and acts of terrorism etc.

I won't give my SSN if the registration is through a local car club's IT infrastructure :). Word of mouth or highly encrypted/hashed (and let their IT folks crack it) :).

Just reminded me to call TransUnion, Equifax and Experian to put a hold on my credit for this year :).

I would say that we are at a 60/40 of that not being required right now. Just the other information.
