STR is a softer pax than BS. Is there an extra PAX applied to RTR classes to get a pax that is comparable to the open class variant? Ie 0.975 or something?

That's what I was alluding to in my post. If there is, it makes sense to populate the RTR class.

Great point Steven and I was just wondering if I should actually run RT (I know, selling out my STR peeps;) if it helps the club. I forgot how it benefits from a Pax standpoint. Isn't it -5% of the B Stock pax? (Goes to the googles to check...)

Edit- it looks like the reduction is actually 2.5% and the RTR-BS pax would be 0.021075 lower than STR.

BS: .843 = 59.430605 sec run needed to tie STR
STR: .835 x 60 sec = 50.10 pax
RTR-BS: .821925 = 60.9544666 sec run needed to tie STR

Pick your poison I guess  Wow, RTR buys you almost a full second unless I haven't been fully caffeinated and botched up the math.

Ok, so they did pick 2.5% (hence my multiplied of 0.975). I think that number is probably a bit liberal when comparing the top EPSTs to A6s (SS, R1R, RS3) but we'll take it. That being said, probably makes sense for the BS folks on street tires to run RTR-BS.

Let's see, I just priced out some 305 A6's at ~1500 before shipping, installing and balancing. That AIN'T gunna happen this year. As for borrowing Art's tires, I don't want to pull a Stephen and cord his tires  although I'd like to know how that bullitt would handle on a set of R comps. That would be fun.

The better half is approved with me getting away from the house for a few days!
Want to go, not sure if I can go. As always, I am on a shoe string budget. Anyone know of any great hotel packages?
Need to find some cheap room and board.

Official work from Chris Severt:

"Waiting on the Marine Corp."

I assure you he is a bit (ok a lot) frustrated by this extra process we normally don't go thru with single day events. He is waiting to get his info together so he doesn't have to come back to you after registration needing more information.

With that said, be prepared upon registration to provide the following information as the Marine Corp will conduct a criminal background check on every entrant upon the base facility.

1) Full name
2) Drivers License #
3) SS # has been requested (trust me, I know the hesitations there. One of the things we are working on)
4) Tag #'s of car and tow vehicle if applicable
5) Left leg (ok, only slightly kidding) 8)

Somehow I KNEW that was coming. Cherry Point is seriously paranoid. I'm not here to pass judgement but if you have a serious felony conviction on your record, they probably will not let you on base. If you are the last minute kinda type, I'm going to guess (only going off my past experiences with PMO at Cherry Point) there will be a cutoff date and ZERO flexibility after that date.

Maybe fellons will have trouble, but I am sure for most of us it's no big deal. I toured the base a year or so ago and had to submit my info ahead of time, but the tour was well worth it.

One thing to remember is that we will probably have to check in at the gate house. When I went it only took a few minutes since I was part of a group, but the line was short. How long does that usually take?

Since Ryan now has a car that I can fit in, it looks like I'm in as well. I just hope I remember how to do the whole autocross thing!

Hard to believe they are going to request SSNs. I would imagine that many will balk at that request as they should especially since they do not need to collect that information. One can only guess at the potential for non-secure access when they submit (on-line?) their SSN through some registration page along with the follow-on risk of what servers that thing is left on, etc, etc.

I wouldn't be so particular about this if I didn't have firsthand experience with identity theft -- 8 years ago when my son was applying to colleges, we found out a student at some university in VA was using his SSN. It was a PAIN IN THE *** to get that mess cleared up, and it delayed approval of various things. As always, YOU are the one at fault and the criminal until you prove otherwise in cases like these. Nonetheless, since that time I've been especially vigilant about our family's disclosure of SSN data.

Just this February, my wife and I, Jackie and Ash Gravely's parents (Ash, Jackie's fiance, is a LTJG in the Navy -- you guys remember Ash and his white 944 :) ) all went on base at Naval Station Mayport and then out on the USS Taylor for an entire day for family day. They did not require anything but your full name and DL number submitted ahead of time and then checked at the base entrance.
