I have absolutely no excuses for not doing better. I coulda but I didn’t. I did however have a lot of fun. C Stock was tight on the first day for the first four places. I realized how much fun strong competition can be. Also, the ToySubies will be tough to beat, plenty of HP, gearing, and handling. It's enough to keep me in C Stock next year. Sand, I grew up in Florida, not a problem if you stay out of it. I did total a Datsun 510 when I hit some.

Ha Ha, There's some refreshing honesty! That was the most competitive autocross I have participated in. I enjoyed the spectating almost as much as the driving. High stakes and tough competition are great motivators, and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing many folks at their best.

Good site, decently run event. Would go to Five Guys again.

e: Math time~~

Doing some poor approximations, the space for NCAC was about 500 ft wide by 5000 ft long, or: 57.4 acres, 2.5 million sq ft, .09 sq miles, or 360 million sq inches.

For comparison, Danville is roughly 500 ft wide and 2000 ft long: 1 million sq ft. BUT BUT BUT Danville isn't 100% paved.

Mcas is almost twice as wide as Danville.

MCAS Cherry Point 400' wide

Danville 145' wide

Man, that place is great, fast, and challenging! They did a great job, especially with the challenges of setup day being only an hour as there was an F16 (?) that was parked on course and a big turnout of people that changed plans or didn't get a chance to make it out.

Definitely doing another event back out there soon as they courses that are quick & open like that are always a hoot. From Raleigh it's about the same time as Z-Max, ~2.5 hrs.

I didn't really notice any sand on course except in the area you guys mentioned at the end of the Day 1 sweeper.

That's my positive takeaway as well. I had my car setup for combating the pushiness I was getting at Crown, so when I showed up at MCAS I spent most of my first runs tweaking shock settings to. My issue is that (like Zach said in a prior thread) I should have made larger incremental changes in order to get things in better shape set-up wise. I had it dialed in better for Day 2, as I was closer to the frontrunners than on Day 1 but still too far back for it to matter much more than for the moral victory.

Regardless of setup issues, the key problem for me is lack of inherent talent. In contradistinction, Seeing Zach and Noah in their "uncompetitive, poorly setup AP1" lay the smackdown by nearly 2 secs on what was described to me as "the best setup East Coast STR S2000CR" was satisfying, and confirmed that skill trumps setup.

Now, I need to free up time to make the Danville Evo School.....

I will add MCAS to next year's schedule. For me, it was 5-10 minutes longer drive than ZMax, but a much better surface.

Steven, as of late....I am convinced Noah is some sort of alien sent to show us how to drive with pure anger and precision. Noah, you are a force to be reckoned with!

Minus the anger part....Noah is the chillest guy I've ever met :).

Noah is one of the big reasons that I am staying in C Stock. He told me that he was bringing the RX8 back. Competition always makes you better unless you’re a wus who’s ego bruises easily.

Steven C., At the 2009 NCAC, I had two days when I could do no wrong. That’s the last and only time that I’ve won C Stock. The miracle hasn’t repeated itself. You’re a great driver, the universe just wasn’t properly aligned for you this weekend. Every dog has his day, I was lucky and had two.

great stuff, Marcus! Here's my best effort for Sunday. Needed to take more speed in the slalom, and couldn't get the sweeper right (too much speed pushed me out on exit) but I'm glad I got better over the course of the 3 runs.

Marcus, I really like that helmet cam. Even with the rolling motion from the G's you can clearly see where you are going, but more importantly where you are looking, plus the sight picture is about as close to your eyes as you can get. I know helmet cams are nothing new, but it just clicked for me :D

Party in C-stock for 2013? :woo: That's assuming they were wrong about the whole world ending thing. :D

I'm not sure if I'm going to get a Subaru BRZ or a Nissan 370Z but they are the front runners at this point. Either way they are both in C-stock.
