If I had ran what the bullit is prepped for and ran STX at the Jimmy V, I'd be back where I'm used to placing and be in the top 20 PAX, but that's also assuming I'd run the same time on 265 vs 285 tires. Big assumption. The only thing that I need to dump are these 10" wheels and too wide tires. The bullitt is basically STX legal except for that. Reviewing the numbers actually made me feel pretty good about my driving and I got a little excited about that. The excitement has been missing this year.

I'll finish up w/ my ESP PAX for now, but I think it will be time to readjust for next year. So I'll have 2 sets of GT-500 knock-off wheels for sale later this year and probably some decent tread left on the tires, so get your check books ready.

I thought you said it had an aftermarket panhard bar on it too with rod ends/spherical bushings or something?

Pretty sure those can be legal

Yup, just have to replace the ends with rubber/urethane bushings with same amount of metal as stock. Not sure if that's an option on all aftermarket panhard bars.

ohhhh, forgot that one. I know the upper and lower control arms can be replaced per STX. Damn you guys have good memories. Need to investigate a little further now. This is what I get for joining a club w/ smart people.... 8)

EDIT: so in looking at the rules in section 14.H, it looks like the panhard bar is an item to be replaced or added. I guess the issue is to make sure the bushing are of the same type as the original bar. I'll have to go look at mine once it cools down outside.

No limitation on attachment. The only reason I know this is from reading Terry Fair's S197 5.0 STX thread on roadraceautox.com

This thread is very detailed, and per the statement that panhard bars can be added/replaced per the SCCA rules and the statement in link that states the bar is STX legal, I think I'm good to go here.

Think of it this way. You could be driving a 1.6 liter with less than 100hp to the wheel and 114 lbs torque. Would it suck then? I'm going with.......ah, no.
Great driving yesterday, and congratulations on FTD! Frank rules!

Actually, with a CSP pax, you would've been 8th.
36.184 * 0.857 = 31.010

(unless I can't do maths?)

Liz was driving a car with a very slightly larger front bar (20mm vs. 22mm), a set of lowering springs, STU-legal tires and an STU-legal turboback exhaust, and running in SM (because there's usually better competition for her there). She got the fastest time for all the cars that weren't true sports cars, and where did that put her in pax?

PAX is dumb for anything but national championships.

So to add to the shit storm, Jeremy and I set 2nd and 5th in PAX in an "STR" car with double adjustable shocks that we don't know how to properly use and wheels and tires (100+ run RS3s that have bald shoulders and hit 177degF at the last Danville event) and a big front bar and a little rear bar. No intake/exhaust/tune or light weight anything. Probably $10k+ away from a Glagola or Nwangu or Thorne or similar car in prep.

Star specs, here we come ;).

Ha! Don't know how to adjust shocks.......right. I am not buying that for a minute, Mr. Smarty McCreepybeard. :stick:

New tires FTW, though. My front tires were not happy (using my old 100 run tires from the WRX plus 60 runs this season) yesterday. I need to see you close the gap on Licursi at NCAC, so buy thembefore NCAC wouldja?
