Besides, it was a redneck repair success. That connector broke months ago and I've been driving around with nothing but a thin layer of superglue between me and power brake failure. There are only so many times you can glue/tape/quicksteel a plastic connector.
Steve: the plastic connector from the vacuum pump (yes, James, my car has a vacuum pump) to the brake vacuum line broke. It has a tiny valve in it (which I possibly dribbled superglue into), or the quick steel would have worked. This little part that should cost $5 is $400 because it comes with a vacuum pump that I don't need. So now I'm waiting for a shop that will give me the little connector when they replace an R56 vacuum pump.... meanwhile, I don't advise any sudden stops in front of me.
