The two sweepers felt grippier than I thought they might and I'm starting to feel comfortable in the car and will probably loosen the front bar soon to get a tad more rotation as it was pushy under throttle.

I was working the sweeper to the right when you were running. I remarked at the time how good you looked and how aggressive you were, especially coming out of that sweeper and through the offsets going into the crossover. Congrats on your STR Class win yesterday!

The new bar on Tiny Blue seemed to improve the rotation even more for us. We'll know for sure at the T&T this Thursday in Blytheville. I just don't see how she (the car) can get much better. :D Guess the rest is up to the three nuts behind the wheel. :sing:

Thanks for the nice words Gwen and kick some butt down in Arkansas!

Here's a video of the course if anyone wants to kill a minute or two and sorry about the mic chatter:

Nice drive! Isn't that the site of the 24 hour autocross later this summer? Looks to be a nice switch from the runway-based courses.

Not sure about a 24 hour event there Steve, as I haven't heard any buzz about it but it's a fun site especially for spectating/photos.

I saw something mentioned on the CCR schedule for early September...hoping someone more "in the know" would have the scoop.

I plan to be at that one. 24hr autocrosses are a blast, you can keep running till your absolutely sick of it and disgusted that you can't go any faster then go take a nap, come back and do it again! The asphalt limits course design, but to me, Dixie is still a great site with shaded pits, real restrooms, and a shaded grand stand that you can see the entire course from.

Here's 48 seconds of your life that you'll never get back. :)
My best run on Sunday at Dixie. Lost so much time in the offsets after the crossover by oversteering, and could have been a tiny bit more aggressive in the sweepers. My co-driver got me by 1.2 seconds for the day. The car is loose...just right. The new bar makes a difference, for sure. Wish the audio was better, but, oh well. I think I was actually 3rd in Pro. They've got a couple of things to fix from the audit.

Great vid, smooth driving. It's neat to see the speedometer front and center. My dad asked me how fast we were going before the cross over, but I could only approximate around 60mph since we were in the upper rev range in 2nd. I can't read the indexing on your speedo, but it appears the bold marks are in 20mph increments?

The speedometer on the Mini sucks. On the highway I actually use a GPS as a Speedometer, so it's still only a guess. However, I wasn't on the limiter, so less than 60 mph.

Looking at the data last night confirmed that my biggest chunk of horrid was right where the video showed, in the offsets after the crossover. I lost .3 to Jim there. everywhere else was nickel and dime stuff that adds up over all. At tad too much brake at the crossover, lifting out more than a quarter....stuff like that.

Again, a very fun course, considering the limitations of the site.

Looking at the video I was doing 55 on both runs I checked before the bump and crossover and could have held it a little longer to hit the limiter but I would have been late through that section. My co-driver (Steven D.) hit it twice so I guess his braking was a tad later or he was more aggressive and carried a higher exit speed through the wiggle before it.

I noticed both you and Jim got on the throttle before the 'wiggle' to the left in front of the grandstand and carried it all the way to the crossover.

If Duckworth broke later, or was more aggressive in some areas, you have to think it through to the next element. You were faster overall, so what you were doing worked. It's easy to be faster someplace, but you always have to look beyond that, because sometimes that speed will bite you in the backside further down the track. Study your video (assuming you didn't have data) and see where you might have gotten away with a mini lift rather than a tap, or gone 1/2 mph quicker somewhere. That's where you'll pick up ten's next time. Or, so I've been told. This is all stuff you already know. Just fun to rehash it.....

Knowing it and executing it for me are sometimes different things unfortunately.

Rehashing on the web always makes the transition back to work a bit easier after a great autocross weekend. Hope to see you (& more Tar Heelers) in "Little Washington" Sunday. I haven't told the boss yet but I hope she lets me go. :sing:

 excellent. Registered yesterday--hope to see more fellow Tarheelers on Sunday! Remember to bring cash as they don't accept online payments....and they don't do inter-club reciprocity for registration or tech.
