I'm going to try and get back on the phones soon calling people, I have this stupid job that keeps getting in the way.

Approximately 700 x 350 with no hard stuff. That looks like something to work with. Good luck!

Found this lot, it might be worth looking into:

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=U.S.+Toba ... +Inc.&z=18

It looks to be about 200x600 with only a few obstructions.

It appears to be a tobacco processing plant owned by the U.S. Tobacco Cooperative.

I have to agree w/ Bernie here. I don't see how anyone would let us drive on an active airport. The taxiways look like an option, but it would be just like Sanford, too narrow.

We are going to look at SNMP this week. Fingers crossed on this one.

It would lead to courses that were not cone intensive since we have to pick up for every takeoff and landing..

Does anyone know of someone who works in commercial real estate that we can lean on for inside info for other sites?
Also, have we thought about going back to RBC just to get one event…say…the Jimmy V?
Can we get the folks from Jimmy V to get us an endorsement?
Not knowing the reasons behind why we lost the site, what are the chances of getting this support behind us?

Been auto-crossing on and OFF for a while now, yet I find myself driving more OFF than ON.

on the thought of Jimmy V, you think we could use our history to put them to work for us? convince them to make it some type of event once a year? im sure their more reputable name would have better luck calling people then us., they would have better luck calling places and asking for usage of their property.

if they can break the ground with a site... that sight might then be more willing to let our club use it.

I will do what I can. Finding time to cold call sites in the middle of the day is tough. This damn job keeps getting in the way of my auto cross duties. . .

I'd give Piedmont dragway a call. This Friday a co-worker's wife's company is having a 1/8th mile drag + some kind of "curvy course competition" at Piedmont. I'm going to try and get myself invited to come out. It at least gives a hint that they are open to renting out the track to events involving the steering wheel and brakes. I'll take some pictures and give a report on the facilities/surface if I can get out there.

Awesome James, just talked to the gentleman there, and we will start the discussion. He is open to the idea. PM me and let me know your thoughts if you do go out there, although I will probably pay him a visit in the not too distant future.

That's not the Gap Outlet, but it is close to the outlets in Smithfield. I drive by there almost every day, and I've never seen any cars parked in that lot, except for an occasional Corvette or dirt oval "modified" race car on a trailer. Looks like a good place for an autox, except there might be too many light poles. If anybody finds this interesting, let me know and I'll go by and look for info that could be used to figure out who to contact.

Yes please. We are always interested in more leads. We are making progress, but you never know when we run into a brick wall with any of these leads. PM me any info you can find. Thanks a bunch.
