Looks like EMC's datacenter perhaps?

I'm sure that will present no restrictions on use......

Nope it's the old Data General building that EMC took over when they bought out the storage line from them. It is the primary facility for EMC production of their mid-tier storage (Clariion). Your chance of getting that parking lot is 0 or less. If I remember right they run 2 shifts 7 days a week.

Sorry to hear you lost Sanford, and how they went about it. That sucks and very tactless. Sounds similar to how RBC acted. One day they just went stone cold. Told us their insurance recommended they shut us down and not do those kinds of things. I don't believe they had any intention of letting us back even if we did the safety bits they noted. It most certainly would increase costs significantly. It's not a good site for 120 drivers, seemed to fit 60 really well though.

What about the SHP facility? They let us in before to do the kids safety school. Maybe revisit that outfit. It's close and big.

Somewhere behind the airport off Aviation or Airport drive there are trucking terminals and other large lots. I thought one of them was abandoned.

Good luck.

Brice called about it and was basically told to go away and not come back. Places to drive are getting tough....

This is my fundemental problem too. Government offical rail against street racing yet they don't provide other outlets for safely driving fast. They just expect everyone to drive Camry's and go 5mph below the speed limit.

My tax dollars should be used to allow usage of the site.

I fear that single runway airports that are still active will not allow a shutdown for an autoevent ,abandon airports or airfields with inactive runways are hard to find.

I have to agree w/ Bernie here. I don't see how anyone would let us drive on an active airport. The taxiways look like an option, but it would be just like Sanford, too narrow.

We are going to look at SNMP this week. Fingers crossed on this one.

I was thinking more like the area where the aircraft are parked, not the runways.

Probably not, but it made me think to look at Horace Williams airport in Chapel Hill, and I saw the Estes Dr park and ride. . .

I'm going to try and get back on the phones soon calling people, I have this stupid job that keeps getting in the way.

I believe us running at an airport with any impact to their active operations requires FAA approval. I know shutting down an active runway for sure does.
