Points Event #7 Update

Based on scheduling concerns, I'd like to announce that the points event at NCCAR will be moved to September 16th, not the 15th as was originally posted. There will be a quiet hour required (11-12), but this will allow our ALMS people to attend that race AND our event (a weekend of motorsports). The circuitcross date is also somewhat in question, more details will come out about that shortly.

What's the status here? I'm pretty sure the circuitcross is axed correct? Are we still doing two days here? The THSCC calendar still shows two days and I know of at least one person who has scheduled around this.

The autox is Sunday with 12 noon start time. The webmaster will update this soon to make it clear.

So there is no circuitcross or any event on Saturday?

I've been asked to instruct on course at an event on Friday, so I was planning on staying up there Fri and Sat nights.

Unfortunately there was no way to make this financially feasible.

If you must know, NCCAR took a deposit from us for a track event last year. Simon would let us apply this towards the autocross program with the stipulation that we MUST rent the whole track for both Sat/Sun. Even after applying the credit to this rental fee, coupled with charging $75-100 for entry to the circuitcross plus having the regular autox would still yield us deep, deep deep in the hole. After breaking even on the Jimmy V event (after the donation is made), the general account is not even full enough to cancel out the loss we'd likely incur on the NCCAR weekend if I'm not mistaken.

An update, the first car will not be able to start until noon. Basically, our regular schedule will be happening, but 2 hours later. This will give people plenty of time to get to the site given how far away it is.

I will likely need a co-drive for this one after this weekend at VIR. Anyone want to lend me a seat? I'll pay your entry and kick in some $$ if you're on r-comps.
