Can we just dump the text of the results in this thread?

just curious...I thought the Cobalt SS at the event was a turbocharged one, and would be in STX, not STF. Even if non-turbo, it would be STS, (normally aspirated <3.1liter displacement NOC), no?

He has run stu, dsp, ds, stx and stf since he's started autocrossing. Mary indicates he lies to her about having a turbo. He's obviously confused :).

On my final run (58.4xx) I did the VDA section VERY well compared to my first 4 runs which basically meant patience and minimal dorifto and tame throttle modulation. Then I get to the slalom and try to squeeze an extra 3-4 mph out and get very late by the 4th cone and have to damn near stop before the c-box since I knew the run was good and not worth coning so I bog from 2500ish rpms through the cbox to the finish without even having to go to 3rd and yet the time was good. I'm pretty sure Jeremy's car had low 57s in it.

On my fastest run, I was hitting 50/56 the first pass and 54/58 the second pass. In the slaloms i entered around 46 and had to gradually slow down to 42 as I got a little late and had to compensate by left foot braking a little. It was a freaking ballerina dance driving that car, setup that way, in those conditions. http://goo.gl/xS6Aw

He said he took all the mods off, but it didn't sound like it when he was on the course. We need to print out the current classing rules for cars and have it in the bus at all times. I don't know classing for every car and I don't think anyone else here does either.

A Cobalt SS can't be a STF car; The Mazda2, Fit, Mini Non-S are STF cars.

Plus the PAX for STF is something like .749. A Cobalt SS is in DS, iirc.

2009 Cobalt SSs are turbocharged from the factory. Assuming he's stock DS is where he should be, STX if he has suspension mods.

He has a blow off valve and intercooler piping so he's technically in SMF (or maybe DSP?).

One of the film crew that was covering the EV challenge on Sat, stayed on Sunday and covered part of our autox. Here's the link. Many thanks to Jeff Wilson for posting up.

Here is some additional info given to me via Eric Ryan, the guy that ran the EV event this weekend.

Hello All,

One of our new partners in the EV Challenge, Ben Harris at Harris Educational, just sent me a link to his photos and a great five-minute video of the event on Saturday. (He was at the event on Saturday only; there is no footage from Sunday.) Thanks, Ben! Here are the links...

A Video I've made from clips I took about my experience at the event:

Ben Harris at Harris Educational just told me that we were a subject of a Forbes Magazine blog. Check it out:

TJ McCue is the blogger that wrote this piece. Thanks to Ben for getting this information to him!

TJ even mentions McMichael HS by name.

<---not a bowtie guy, but IIRC some were supercharged, later they were turbo. Wasn't sure if he claimed to have de-turboed the car when he stated he had "taken all the mods off", but my point is that even a base Cobalt is STC, not STF. (oops....misstated STS in my first post. Sorry.)

+1 on having a copy of car classes accessible to the registrar(s).

huh? :? No, but according to THSCC rules
"8. Classes Supported
8.1. THSCC will support the classes as defined in the current SCCA® Solo II® Rules unless otherwise published here or for a specific event. "

Of note, we apparently still disallow karts, but that's a bit of a digression....
