Thanks to everyone who came out despite the awful weather, and a huge thanks to everyone who stuck around and helped clean up. I don't think I've ever been at an event where course cleanup took such a short amount of time.

Awful weather is an understatement. Cold, windy and wet, not really optimal conditions, and I lost my damn popup. Not happy about that one. That was a very fun course. I would have loved to have driven it in the dry. As it was, I couldn't keep the rear end underneath the car. Should have lower tire pressures or just keep my streets on the car. Oh well....

I would say it was even worse for the EV drivers, so were so ill prepared for the wet, but according to Eric, they had a great time. They had a presentation/wrap up meeting for the EV folks around 11:30 on Sunday. THSCC was presented a nice plaque for helping out w/ the weekend.

I do want to say "THANK YOU" to everyone that came out to help w/ the EV challenge and helping make a wet event a success. We did have a first this time around where we did not have trophy awards at the end of the event. Weather was just not conducive to that, so my sincere apologies to everyone. Please try and make it the the Danville event and come see me. I'll make sure you receive your award.

Fingers crossed this is the only wet event for the year.

QFT on the first part, and fixored for the second part. Big, mad props to the veeps, officers and ECs for making this event work. I would've loved a couple shots at that course in the dry, as it flowed really well in the wet.

BTW, I sprung for some Marmot raingear from REI at their recent end-of-winter sale, and it was worth it for this one event alone. Now, if only I could remember to bring boots. And an oar. Aaaaand a life preserver.

What fun, the weather was about as bad as i have ever seen. But we drifted and slid and DNFd our way to having fun despite the weather. The car could have run better, bad miss on the engine.. Dad says cyl number 2. But for a engine that has not run for who knows how long.. It did what we thought it would do.If we can get it running right.. I wanna do CMP later this year with you guys.
I got a free track thing at the party, so I will use it to go to CMP, dad says he may even instruct if he needs to.If not, he will just come as pit crew.

Anywho.. I had fun, autocross is how it all started for me anyway.I did that for years before switching to other things, and the conditions fit my driving style well.We have some issues to sort through..but we will be ok.

If only someone would have gotten some video of my agricultural excursions, those were interesting.

After dropping the bus off and getting the dog from my parents, we didn't get home until late. Final audit will be done tonight, and I will send results out to be posted as soon as I have them.

Thanks to everyone who came out.

2/3. Our first event there was dry (the one with the pivot cone).

Full results aren't up yet, but here are top 10 raw and top 10 pax. I would like to point out that the entire STR class got beat by a girl. Nice driving Maria, your tires must not suck as much as I thought :).

And what is the significance of that? :poke:

Anyway, had fun even though it was such a cold and wet day, and I didn't do very well. Hindsight is always 20/20, and I'm pretty sure my 205mm/225mm Pilot Sport All-Seasons would have performed better than the 255mm R-S3s, but oh well. This will be an interesting STR season, indeed. Onward to Danville!

Good thing your wonderful wife did all that this morning (and gave you that sneak peak at the top 10 times)! ;) I sent the results to be posted early this morning and I am sure Carl will have them up shortly. I believe he has something called a "job"... never heard of it.

I'm sure they were better than my Star Specs that are nearing cord on the inside shoulder. Was interesting driving a car that had more grip when you turned it harder.

I think I'd have to agree, but it sure was fun!

Looking back, do you guys think I should have done split run groups so people didn't have to stand in the rain for as long at once? I thought 2 run groups were good with only ~50 people registered, but didn't realize we were actually going to run around the course twice after all, resulting in pretty long overlap times. Trial by fire I guess and now I've got better perspective on the whole thing. If you're doing something, and it's involving rain, then you're apparently doing it in hard mode.

Here's by fastest run: http://youtu.be/aEY33aGLCJA

I don't think we should ever do 2 groups. People gotta eat at some point.

Noah, set your GoPro for spot metering and make sure the center points out the window. That will fix the washout.
