Perhaps your right with the cost analogy. My thoughts really stem from a safety stand point----We've had more incidents at Sanford than any other venue mainly steming from use of the taxiway, Danville is flat with no obstacles so to speak. Besides gas in Virgina is cheaper than here so tank up!!! :)

I am just getting back into autocross, so take my 2 cents for what it's worth. I voted Danville, but I plan to attend the event regardless of location. Not to rock the boat, but has the club considered pricing autocrosses based on site cost and projected attendance? For example, drop the entry at L-burg $5 or so to increase attendance there. Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining about entry fees, in fact I would be willing to pay more for sites closer to the Raleigh area.

A novel idea, but not so practical. If we did this we'd have to have the webmasters constantly changing the paypal links and it would be frustrating for the registrars. We've taken the KISS method on pricing. :D

Sanford never broke even except for event 1 last year. The only events we made money off of were at Danville or Laurinburg. NCCAR event one we made some money due to the reduced rental due to hosting the EV challenge. NCCAR event 2 was a big loss :(.

I really think this was due to weather. 90% chance of storms if I remember correctly, although we REALLY lucked out...

Heat one coming into the VDA (I'd most likely recommend running the EV course this way to save batteries):

I know you lost my entry on that one. 90% chance of rain = 100% chance of not seeing me out there.
