It's on, we're leaving to go set up. Setup is open for anyone who wants to join and get some dry seat time in today and help design the course(s).

This is a great idea. Would love to come do this, but headed out today to try to find us a new meeting place.

Any chance we can dump our stuff (pseudo-pit) in the covered area near the usual site of the porta-Johns? Since we know it's going to be wet, and not many drivers wil lbe there I figured it would be nice to have a sorta dry place to keep tools etc.

Just a thought....

I don't think it's a problem putting stuff under the canopy area, but NOTHING goes on the golden knights logo that's beside it.

But I was planning on using the covered area to change out sway bars for testing purposes.

Beautiful day. 70 degrees, sunny, we all got forty runs in, a couple local breweries showed up with free kegs of beer near the end and one of our entrants actually won the lottery and bought everyone there a free set of Hoosiers.

Ok, the weather sucked ass a lot, but thank you for all the non-sissies who showed up and dialed in their rain driving setups. I know I had fun regardless of the conditions, even though I drove like doo doo. Congrats to my wife on some nice driving. I definitely got beat by a girl today (actually two, Gwen whooped up too).

Now that I am dry and thawed (driving home barefooted with the heat blasting got the process started) I must say it was a blast. I did little testing and no tuning, but I thourghly appreciate the seat time. Hats off, great event!

Properly thawed out and dry(finally)....

Thanks a bunch to the event crew who suffered the dropping temps to get everything back into the bus. Despite the British weather it was completely worth the time and effort to make it down for the TnT. Great driving by the Mini crew today!

Lots of seat time to shake off the rust and get used to the new ride. This season is shaping up to be a good one!

Here's a setup day video of both courses in the dry. Thanks to everyone that volunteered & braved the weather and see you in Danville!

With your new avatar I thought you were Brice.

Then I got really confused when the video was in a S2k and the helmet had a Vans sticker on it.

This is how I remember it....

So I got all my (valuable) driving time in on Saturday. The S2200 feels awesome on the new suspension but it is insanely sensitive to steering inputs now so I have to work on smooth and small steering inputs. The RS3s felts great on Saturday...probably got the tire temps up to around 100degF on a few runs and boy they love the heat...cant wait for the summer.

Sunday however exposed why people say the RS3s are not a good wet weather tire (nor a tire that likes sub 40 deg temps :) ). Plus I was just too hesitant because I was hungover and cold and wet (this guy has no rain gear so my typical sweat pants, sneakers and fleece/sweatshirt is what I was sporting). I think Jeremy's front star specs and my 215 Conti DW tires would have been faster than the RS3s yesterday, but I wasn't about to do another tire swap, screw that :).

There is a group of people that are on my shit list for the future who went to the shelter, skipped out on work and then were first in line for the heat they drove in. I have their names and cars so they'll be working 2 heats at the next event they show up to before they get ANY runs in ;).

I enjoyed the beautiful sunshine as well. Hope I don't peel later this week from the sunburn. I always forget to put the sunscreen on the first event of the year.

It was a blast getting to drive yesterday after a long winter's break.

Ok, so "who's a sissy talk" and "what tires suck" talk aside, I had a blast yesterday! Thanks to all who made it happen. Do I hate being cold and wet? You bet. But I know more now than I did before yesterday about how Tine Blue handles with the current set up, both on reasonably good R Comps (on Saturday at ZMax) and on crappy Toyo summer rains Sunday that are almost shaved and hate the cold. The timed course was a good opportunity to check out a few things and iron out a few more. I think we are just about good to go for the start of the year.

It was great seeing some new faces...new drivers...there, and really a hoot to see all the new S2K drivers. Looks like it will be a fun year.
